Got Apeface, and I am super happy with him! I never had Aperface as a kid; I was just losing interest in toys around this time of G1. That pearly plastic is -OK- and not terrible but definitely reminds me of teeth which aren't quite white, but not yellowed enough to be whitened.  

 

It’s interesting how they switched up the Apeface transformation. The G1 toy had the ape pretty much mounted as the backpack and 3rd party copied the same scheme. The defining feature of him before Siege was that big backpack.

But the integration of the ape arms into the leg is clever, and the profile becomes more animation style than based on the original toy by doing so.

 

That was a great trick by the designers. I also think, but don't quote me, this is the first application of this particular leg transformation (similar to deluxe Aerialbots) being used on a Voyager.
