Well, I - personally - I'm not seeing it as elitist. Just preference. I dont want you or someone who prefers something else paying more for having a preference (other than the increased import cost, which is a given).

I have this figure pre-ordered as well, and being a big JP Headmasters fan, I'm excited to add another character to the cast. But I still think the white isn't great. That's no reason to hope someone has to pay more.

 

I just dropped my pre-order fr ApeFace. Hated to do it but the pics and one and only video review made this figure look so terrible. Definitely not Siege Springer quality or class.

Maybe I’ll reconsider if the price drops.

 

You have to spend your money how you see fit. I'm not excited about the jet mode or the glossy white, but I'm still happy the character is happening at this scale. With that being said, if that Fansproject version ever happened, I'd be all over it.

 

I go back to reference Siege Springer who really lives up to what the toy designers intended Siege to be; a line which updates the G1 originals but with top end articulation and development.

The jet mode on ApeFace, the lack of articulation that matches what most Siege figures commonly have, and if you really look at this figure compared to ANY Siege figure, ApeFace’s modes are not clean. It really does look like this was designed for Titan Returns, which BTW was originally stated by someone at Hasbro was supposed to be a late release in Titans at the time.

I wanted to focus on Triple changers in this line because I was so impressed by Springer. If the Price drops to a holiday discount, I think AstroTrain might be my next figure.

 

It would be strange to see them released as mail exclusives since they are key characters.

Key characters? Didn't they do Big Powered as a TT Mall exclusive? I'd say those are more key characters than two throwaway Headmasters.

 

Now for a Snapdragon figure..

 

Not very impressed by the jet mode overall, but I have to admit, I kind of like how his beast head sticks out underneath the front of the jet, making him look like a jet with teeth. But despite the jet mode, I do still plan on getting him. I'm used to most triple changers have at least one poor alt mode compared to the other modes and at voyager price, I'm not too broken up. Also helps I like the character. Now if it was Leader class price or so, I would have to rethink that.

 

I think it was reported somewhere that John Warden (I think) let it slip that it's coming.

Hard to find this guy online in the UK. I, for one, have really warmed up to the white. I’d almost say that I actually... well, like it. The ugliness of the shade of colour makes him look dirty, fitting the character well. My only worry is that they may make Snapdragon the same shade of white, which, if used on the entire figure, may look rather horrible.
