So I guess you weren't a fan of transformers prime then.
Miles Luna, one of the RT Animation writers/voice actors, is voicing Teletraan-1 Miles Luna on Twitter
Yeah, that is what I was saying when I said it looks a lot like the previous stuff we got with Combiner Wars and Titans Return... I really thought the animation was going to be on a Transformers Prime level.
After RID15, Cyberverse, and the Bee movie, I don’t mind having dark gritty Transformers. It would just be nice to get some new designs up in here.
I'm getting at that it looks very cheap ala Energon and Cybertron, same problem as the recent IDW run. The designs are all lifeless and blocky, don't really translate very well aesthetic wise into different mediums. Maybe an artistic tweak here and there would've helped.
I think it'd be better if the new voice actors did new takes on the character. Prime doesn't have to sound like Cullen all the time. It gets old after a while.
Tbh, I don't really like that these cybertron centered stories just center around the fighting, I would really like the see the lead up to the war, and idw's previous run with the stuff about the politics of how the planet operated were really interesting. I'd like to see them bring that to the big screen.
So Walmart sold out already @##$&+*
The upcoming cartoon looks fantastic. I am looking forward to watching it and I hope the episodes are longer than 10-15 minutes. The toys are interesting - I really like the paint apps, but ultimately I'm only springing for Megatron, and then only because Lionizer and Pinpointer sweeten the pot. You win this time, Hasbro!
I'm a sucker for purple so if Hotlink or Mirage end up up clogging shelves or going on sale I'll add them to my ranks, but otherwise I can pass on everyone but Megatron.
IIRC it was said awhile back there are going to be six 20 minute episodes in this series for the first season.
That would be great!
Hope Hasbro are ready to reissue ALL of the Siege line, because there will likely be a lot of new customers wanting to buy them after the show goes up.
That's some exceptionally well thought out promotional timing right there
Wow first time I agree with you on something
I’m not seeing it. Th production value on this series is much higher than the Machinima stuff. Not Prime-level, but still impressive.
he's also voicing Cliffjumper
Miles Luna on Twitter
While it’s likely not the case, I’m wondering if it’ll play out like Netflix’s Godzilla trilogy with three movies rather than a series. The runtime of six episodes is essentially feature length.
Trust me Split Lip's famous around here for being one of the biggest if not THE biggest detractors of Prime for many reasons and how the dark tone was handled in it is one of them. So if I were you don't get him started on it otherwise you'll get a long post from him on it.
Same goes for his overall thoughts on both the Macinema Prime wars series and the Netflix series when it's out.
Well then he shouldnt be near the cybertron games also or some of the idw stuff
Digging around Twitter is showing a (incomplete) cast list. So far, we got:
Miles Luna as Teletraan-1
Joe Zieja as Bumblebee and Cliffjumper
Jason Marnocha as Megatron (reprising his role in the Prime Wars trilogy)
Mark Whitten (Oh from Home: Adventures with Tip & Oh) as Sideswipe and Skywarp
Edward Bosco (Alastor from Hazbin Hotel and 18-Volt in WarioWare: Gold) as Ultra Magnus
Keith Silverstein (Sonic the Hedgehog's Vector the Crocodile) as Jetfire
Brook Chalmers (Carole & Tuesday, Demon Slayer) as Impactor (Fun fact: this marks the first time Impactor actually had a voice!)
Not sure who voices Optimus or Elita, but I suspect we'll find out soon enough.
Speaking of Jetfire, you can see him with the Cons in what looks like a scene where Ultra Magnus has an audience with them for...something (side with them? Spill Autobot secrets behind Optimus' back?).
I suspect that whatever UM does with them, Megatron will do something less than honorable, which WILL cause Jetfire to go Autobot.
Spoiler: Possible WFC spoiler?
(Please don't kill UM...)
In any case, the trailer's warming up on me. And I suspect the lip sync issue will be looked at by release in the summer.
Nice to see Marnocha back. He was one of the few bright spots of the Prime Wars trilogy
I gotta admit I'm getting some strong Corey Burton's Animated Megatron vibes from Marnocha's take on Megatron which sure isn't a bad thing in my book.
