The animation looks good, but damn Optimus primal’s voice needs a lot of work. Also

I'm kind of glad they gave these characters actual character models rather than just 100% straight copies of the Hasbro cad models. While it was a neat idea, I never liked how they kept the awful backpacks and hollow spaces that a lot of the figures have. Those are fine on a physical toy but shouldn't be there in the show version imo

Ok so what the hell is going on with the WfC trilogy's animation models?

In Siege the animators were so accurate to the toys that you can see the wheels on Megatron's legs even though he is a HOVER tank.

Now in Kingdom none of the Maximals look like there figures. Rhinox look like his T30 figure and Tigatron is literally just an upscaled Cheetor colored white. Hell the original Beast Wars cartoon at least gave Tigatron a slightly different head.

EDIT: Looking at the group shot again, the models appear to be 100% based off of that concept art that keeps getting posted. Cheetor looks just like his RED figure. I am just so confused by this trilogy, there is just no consistency. Other than poor writing that is.

I wonder if it has anything to do with the beasts being a relatively late addition to Kingdom?

Earthrise had the same problems though. The coneheads had comically oversized heads and Exhaust they didn't even bother giving him his actual head.

but those were still based on toy cad models, the beasts are more like Bumblebee, Elita, Arcee and Galvatron

I now realized that these must be based on the concept art for Kingdom. It's just weird how Siege was 100% CAD models, Earthrise was a weird mix of toy accurate designs and slightly off designs, and Kingdom being based purely on the concept art.

That brown color looks surprisingly good for him. Did they reuse the colors from TF Animated version of Rattrap?

    Hahaha, oh man...

Should I be petty enough to go around and collect quotes of all the times people spammed discussions about toon accuracy with comments about how "accuracy to the original BW cartoon doesn't matter, because these toys will be accurate to the Netflix cartoon"? I'm so tempted....but I'm also lazy.

Sort of makes sense though. We were a good bit into the Earthrise toyline when the Siege show came out. They probably had the Siege models for a long time in production, less so for the Earthrise models (with probably no CAD models for Exhaust and other Gen Selects/exclusives).

I wouldn’t be surprised if they had to start work on Kingdom before any of the toys were finalized, so they went with concept art & existing designs.

Thank god I ordered Wave 2 online. Never saw Dinobot in the wild. Don’t expect to see wave 3 in good numbers.

Well, I assume Kingdom toys weren't ready when they were working on animation models. With Siege they had CAD files but with Kingdom they didn't have them. So they base characters mostly on their original models.

He actually looks more like amalgamation of both.

This would match up with the idea that BW characters were a somewhat late inclusion into WFC/Kingdom
