I guess we are just flying by g1 then, huh. Sigh. We just got Season 1 characters and a couple of later ones but now we’re just skipping the majority g1 for beasts wars? We barely scratched the surface and they are ready to leave it.

Looking at the design, it doesn't seem impossibly Takara could create this in their Select line with medium-remold of the rumored Kingdom Inferno (presuming that's a Grapple remold) all the pieces are basically in the right place.

 

I’m not sure why G1 fans are getting this doom and gloom attitude. Going by the poster, G1 is still going to have a presence. Not to mention, it’s now being pushed in Studio Series. Don’t worry. You’re still going to get your toys.

 

well now I feel bad for throwing them under the bus, but dang that's a low-effort name regardless of who came up with it... (fine for a random minicon, not great for a future glorious leader)

 

Reading through many pages and as hyped as I am, and also praying for more information tomorrow I can see some people's points that we might not see any figures just yet. possibly just a higher res picture of this poster after some other figures would leave me salivating for more and would be semi-satisfactory.

 

They didn't see the demand, and believed the hype about people hating him, but they are starting to get it. Last toy sold well. He easily is one of the best developed characters in the G1 show. Just keep saying you want him and I will too. Preferably in those darker season 3 colors

...except of the Inferno rumor (I haven't heard about yet). A Kingdom Inferno might more likely be Beast Wars Inferno. An Inferno being a retooled ER Grapple is pretty likely going to be a Selects figure.

 

G1 being released in another continuity's toyline = good.
Another continuity being released in a G1 toyline = bad

Hasbro: Some selects, the Quinteson pack and Earthrise Wave 4, available for preorder shortly thereafter.
Walmart: Netflix and RED waves 2

next week at CC@H: Upcoming SS (maybe first SS86 figures?), upcoming Cyberverse, perhaps a couple more selects, Amazon Exclusives for Earthrise, maybe a tease of Kingdom? I have a hard time imagining it's coming soon enough to show figures, maybe some silhouettes? (they did that with Superion and Overlord) - Unless they absolutely JAM through the rest of Earthrise, we'd be looking at late Winter/Spring for KDM wave 1

I am still unsure if i brainwashed my wife, but we were watching beast wars (I was forcing her to watch beast wars) and fifth episode in she says "am i crazy or is this animation like... not that bad?"

to which i said "nah. it's pretty bad"

but inside i shed a tear of joy.

Wouldn't it be interesting if they kept the audio exactly as it is and just gave it new animation? The story and dialogue really holds up.

So this is where I think it might be pure nostalgia... but it really doesn't look too bad to me. The textures and environments are pretty bad, particularly in season 1... but I actually find the character models and animations to have aged pretty decently. They really don't look that bad to me.
