This figure looks great except for all the ways it doesn’t.

I like Siege Magnus a lot. I like his heft, and chunk, and proportions. Only thing I don’t like is how poorly he goes with SS86, and that he lacks the “sunglasses.” Kingdom Magnus technically rectifies both those issues, but at the cost of a decent vehicle mode.

I’m still not sure if it’s worth the $70 for a sidegrade when it should be an upgrade.

If I was looking for a good Magnus and I mean a Magnus just embodies everything Ultra Magnus perfectly I'd stick with the Siege version.

I have gotten a lot of people to watch it off of Tubi. They actually have ALL of transformers, which is crazy.

It would in fact be a no brainer to bring Beast Wars to Netflix parallel with the Kingdom cartoon. We all know by now that Kingdom just like earthrise will be trash. However it could serve as an appetizer for people to watch Beast Wars. Then they'll be impressed, fall in love with BW characters, rid all toy isles of their Kingdom beasts and we can all live happily ever after knowing that the beasts were successful enough to produce further beasts like Inferno and Terrorsaur (Tarantulas is rumoured to already being designed / made)

That's where I watch it. I'm based in the UK, but I found a free VPN for my iPad to get around that. It's a little bit of a nuisance as you have to watch lots of ads to earn time, but they are mostly quite short.

Or, maybe it could be down to personal preference? Things don't need to be screen accurate, necessarily. Heck, for all we know both ends could be sharp. Since obviously the swords weren't designed based on how real swords function, and these are aliens with different ways to make things and what have you. Ultimately, it should come down to which you think looks cooler lol. No need to debate over which direction a sword should face.

    Precisely!

In my book, both are sharp. Just saying, one side cut through Megatron's arm, one did not cut Dinobots neck

Kingdom doesn't leave room for much confusion as the blades look better with the green edge facing out for slicing action and would be bending inwards slightly if held the other way around.
The old toy was however indeed a bit confusing to me as a child, so I find this discussion interesting haha

    Actually, about that... just fyi

There have been some swords that were designed to have a blunt side to disarm the opponent. Many egyptian/persian and other types were as such, if not only to have a non-fatal approach, but also as a secondary function to yank the opponent's weapon out of their hands during the return. Some were done as such to withstand the hits from an heavier weapon attack (axe or such) that would otherwise break the sharp edge... the welder of the sword had to train to lean to flip his sword during combat and ensure that if they did use the blunt side, to guide the sword to move away from them.

In the old days, most weapons were unique and while many would fit and be part of a type, most were customized for the person that would be using it.

You have to remember that sword fights were NOT like in the movies and shows (those are based on fencing, something that was NOT the way large swords fights would be, but hey, "looks cool" to smash swords together), the goal was never to smash the swords together as that would damage or destroy them, it was to slice or impale the enemy. So they'd either duck a LOT or use shields.

There's several egyptian and persian swords that Primal's sword are based on: Dandao/Dao/dadao, Khopesh (one of my all time favourite), scimitar (probably the inspiration), kilij.
