I’d lay odds against Hasbro doing both because they’re both likely to be yellow Cliffjumper with a different head in the same yellow.

Maybe if you spaced them out so one is in WFC3 (similar to Cosmos getting two releases in different molds).

Unless you cheat and make Hubcap orange as a halfway between G1 and G2.

 

They will have to make more of the micromaster combiners since it would be pointless to only have one and no way of mixing and matching them. That would be like making only 2 working combiner members and no torso.

My biggest hope for this line is less interesting or no exclusives. Siege has/had quite a few exclusives that I would like to have (the rainmakers, toy coloured reflector, Galactic Shockwave), but them being USA store exclusives meant that as European buyer I either can't get them, or they're insanely expensive.


Of the currently announced figures, I'm only really interested in Cliffjumper. It's not a character that's important to me, but it's also a character that's completely absent from my collection since I sold the 07 classics version. And I like how he looks. But honestly, the rest don't interest me that much.

I think Wheeljack will be remoulded into Sunstreaker since the shape of the window in robot mode is already pretty close. Hoist to Trailbreaker (that I would want, but not as a deluxe) and Grapple to Inferno (and repaints). None of those interest me.

My hope for some further Targetmasters and powermasters. Especially the latter seems viable since those were earth cars (while the base targetmasters were not). Likewise the Triggerbots/cons would be nice.

I also honestly wouldn't mind a new Prowl/Bluestreak/Smokescreen mould. I just don't like the siege version it being so lanky and gappy. I'd love a more bulky, solid figure.

My hope as well. I don't need absolute complete teams, but Fixit (sorry seawatch), Sidetrack and Sunrunner are very much hoped for.

Maybe it could be done with some partial repaints. Sidetrack could be a remould from that new tank guy (from the Decepticon battle patrol) with a new turret piece. Fixit maybe from another mould. Sunrunner would require a complete new mould, though, but then they could (heavy) remould it into the helicopter from the Decepticon battle squad.

 

My thoughts on Earthrise,

I am glad that Hasbro have decided to move the focus back to Earth because we have been waiting for a proper Cliffjumper since the year 2006, and be damn if they release 1 in Cybertronian Mode now. Now all I need is a decent Huffer and Pipes (Seriousy, we already got THREE unique Windcharger moulds, and they cannot give Huffer a unique mould?).

All the cartoon characters that we are missing from the year 1984 to 1987 toy catalog without a decent Classics toy at mass retail are,

The Battlechargers, Blaster and Soundwave and their Mini-Cassettes, Huffer, Pipes, Targetmasters, and Throttlebots. 1 of the Targetmaste Crosshairs is releasing soon, and Runamok is the next Fan Vote toy. I am thinking that it is going to be extremely difficult to ever complete Blaster and Soundwave because Hasbro never completes the Mini-Cassettes before moving on to the next toy line. This will eventually leave us with multiple Blaster and Soundwave, and Mini-Cassettes toys with different compatibility to their respective Soundwaves and Blasters. I wonder if we will ever get a coherent set?

The Earthrise toys look amazing, but having collecting Classics since the beginning, I simply neither have the space nor energy to rebuy all the characters again, and I cannot see Hasbro actually completing a set with the same aesthetics; we have Power Of The Primes Jazz, Siege Sideswipe, and now Earthrise Cliffjumper. WTF is this? This is just a huge mess of aesthetics...

i want to see Cliffy standing next to a regular deluxe. preferably one that we already have in hand. he's clearly smaller, but he still looks bigger than Legends scale in the pics I've seen.

- First thing we notice is a roof with a tire on it.
This is interesting, because the original Detritus didn't have a roof.

- We also have a new brush guard over the hood.



- We see the tire teased from his back. Consistent tire pattern.
- His arm is covering his chest so we don't know if the brush guard would have been consistant
- New Rifle. Unlikely
- New Sidearm. Would require remolded leg with a peg hole. Unlikely
- New grenade belt. The fan community would melt. Unlikely
- Extra shoulder details. This seems unlikely.

My guess is he’s around MP-21 height, who was shorter than the shortest deluxes and bigger than a typical Legends.

In fact, this may work VERY well with an MP-21 on display the more I look at it.

I place him at around Sideswipe’s chin or the bottom of Refraktor’s nose.
