Absolutely. He'd probably be a Selects redeco of a potential new Laser Prime, but he's pretty likely I'd say.

They are not going to use a 2 year old mold for a new mainline toy.

who's to say its main line, could very likely be selects, also there is a handful of mainline figures that had molds older than 2 years if you look back, recent years it hasnt happened much but that doesnt mean it isnt possible.
with what we know of earthrise nobodies guess as to if sureshot and pointblank will be newer or older molds is more or less likely, we'd have to see the wave 2 and/or 3 stuff to really get a good look at the new molds on the table assuming those two aren't already a part of those waves

So because lighting struck twice in the same place some 400 years ago it's going to happen again?

Well they're releasing nobodies like Grapple and Starscream with original molds in the mainline, so chances for Sureshot and Pointblank to get original molds in the mainline are pretty high.
I think we can expect the same for Quake and Needlenose too, since they don't have anyone that comes close to the same look.

Who could share a mold are Quickmix, Scoop and Landfill, who have similar alt modes to some of the Constructicons.
This would give us a chance at deluxe class Constructicons too.

Baldigus/Ruination. Armada Cheetor, Rhinox, Airrazor, & Terrorsaur. Cybertron Bendy Prime, Blurr, Longrack, Runabout, & Buzzsaw. PotP Inferno. Shall I go on?

Seems like lightning strikes a hell of a lot.

I don't know what is original mold and what reuse in that list. Except for potp Inferno. Anyways, you're opposed to that kind of thing o_O  Why are you arguing for it all of a sudden?

Like I said before, I'm not opposed to Sureshot and Pointblank sharing a mold, but Joyride is the best candidate for Sureshot imo.
Maybe we'll get a new Punch that can be reused for Pointblank, because the potp one isn't the best.

I expect Counterpunch SOMEWHERE because it was a VERY positively received mold outside of assembly errors that hasn’t made its money back.

I don’t think Hasbro or most fans care THAT MUCH about the alt modes of Targetmasters or Omnibots or Predators. The alt mode has to be serviceable. These figures are going to spend 80%+ of their life in robot mode on a collector’s shelf and kids just care if they’re fun.

Look at the Powerdashers. Look at Slamdance. Look at Crosshairs.

I doubt there’s ANY rush to make robot modes with wheel wings coming off the shoulders.

If they don’t make Pointblank from Counterpunch, they’ll make him from Tracks or Blurr.

The “lightning strike” was getting the Decepticon Targetmasters with such extensive retooling in Titans Return. And that was a line that didn’t have a baked in commitment as a reboot to trying to re-do all the major characters while juggling in new-to-Generations characters.

Filling out the 87-89 cast and probably hitting a few notes like Powerdashers/Omnibots is probably a priority but also around #6 or #7 on the priority list.

I really hope we get a nice Deluxe Warpath, or even a rerelease of the Generations one.

And after all is said and done, that might be an argument if Sureshot and Pointblank had a previous generations mold on which a new toy could be based. But as it is these examples are inappropriate to the matter. Potp Inferno is a better example.

I do hope if Sureshot and Pointblank appear in Earthrise they will get the original molds they so deserve, but if we get a Joyride from Sureshot so much the better.

I'm opposed to advocating for mold reuses yes, but there is still possibility for past molds to be reused, even if it's just shared engineering(that of which I have zero problems with)

For what it's worth, shared engineering instead of a retool would be necessary to "bring" most molds into the WFC trilogy, by necessity of gimmickry. PotP P/CP is no exception. Siege Chromia might be as close as a pre-Siege mold gets to being in WFC, and she's just shared engineering with a few parts sharing herself.

    Agreed.

Another vote for WFC Smolder here. @Iruini has some pretty rad ideas sometimes.

Yeah, it was a missed opportunity that POTP Inferno Tooling wasn't used for Smolder.

Kinda wished that they could make Upscaled Power Core Combiner toys that are compatible with CW/POTP Combiner Limb Deluxes.

Heck, Cyberverse should do some subline that focuses on combiners. Using the CW Combiner System.
