The backpack will probably annoy the people who hate the partsforming on Cliffjumper but I love that they give you the option and it can be used as a play feature.

    Siege Vs Earthrise

Siege has superior articulation, that's a fact, the butterfly joint is something we've never had on a regular retail release Starscream before but its something that all future Starscreams really SHOULD have. Wrist swivels are great, I've never felt he needed them but they are a must for sword poses not that G1 SS is known for using a sword, that's more UCT SS but better to have it and not need it. IMG_20200206_194325_071.jpg
If I had to choose between them, I'd choose ER, the ER Alt mode is near perfect, when I think of G1 SS, that is what comes to mind. I accept that this Tetrajet is unique and very cool, I personally see no problems with it but nostalgia wins out plus I love Earth jets. 20200204_215805.jpg
Ultimately Starscream is Starscream, both are great figures, ERs torso is a bit blocky, lacks the v taper of many other SS figures, ER lacks a butterfly joint and waist swivel, no double elbows etc but overall I like it better than Siege. There is absolutely nothing wrong with Siege dont get me wrong, if ER had more articulation and a stronger v taper in the torso, I feel like it would be a no brainer.

For me even with the lower level of articulation, ER > Siege. I've already boxed up Siege SS and have a buyer for it, I'll be updating the others as their ER versions are released, I'll just keep the Rainmakers and that way ill atleast maintain the mold and in characters that work with a G1 display be it Earth or Cybertron.

Parts forming? Argg itll be the worst toy ever! How could Hasbro TT do this to us

For me if Siege SS wasn't so greeble-ly looking in bot mode especially in the wings, it would easily be the superior figure for me just looking at comparison pictures.

I will get Earthrise SS eventually, but I'm in no hurry since I still have Seeker fatigue. :p

Sure, as long as removing the kibble is optional and is not necessary for the transformation itself.

I'm glad I got my wave 1 set already. The collector store (The only store in the Province that has them) is nearly sold out.

I'm still hoping this home-run of a Prime will be the last G1 redo we get for a long while....but for what he is, none have done it better!

Swapped the heads between Siege Optimus and Earthrise Optimus.

As far as Earthrise OP's head not having enough paint around the eyes to make them stick out from the face, Classics Voyager Optimus and G1 Optimus are the same way. Their noses aren't painted, either.

the difference between the eyes/face on earthrise vs classics or g1 prime is that the eyes arent the same color as the face on the latter 2

Hollow peg? Hmm, those would be a little simpler to stabilize than solid pegs but still would need drilling work. Basically, you would use a metal pin and epoxy to stabilize it.

Some official TF toys have hollow pegs reinforced with metal pins: (Cyclonus blaster as example)
    handles.jpg

If you have calipers, you can figure out if the peg is too wide and/or the hole is too small.
