Took me, like, two hours of doing dumb shit like this to fully internalize the headcanon that Ironworks is a single dad trying to make his way in the world, that's what the character is to me forever now

I'm posting this here too because I'm just so elated, and frankly, I haven't a brick and mortar experience like this in as long as I can remember:

I just walked out of the Target by me (NJ) and they had a fully stocked Transformer section of EVERY new Earthrise figure, of all classes, and at least 5 figures deep of each.

I've never seen so many Transformers at once in an actual store.

I picked one of every (well, two of the pavement dude) and happily checked out.

I've never been so pleased walking out of an actual store.

    :)
    Time to open.

Yikes, why didn't you just lightly sand the posts instead? Far less invasive, no?

Of the four Targets I went to Tuesday, the only Earthrise figure I found was a lone Starscream who I left on the shelf.

Today, I was really feeling it so I went back to see if he was still there - found it - and without paying much attention I grabbed it. I looked, and looked, and looked some more and spotted two Earthrise deluxes behind several SS52 Arcee Chromia Elita 3-Packs - Ironworks and Cliffjumper, - so I grabbed those and then realized my Starscream was actually a Grapple, which totally made my week. I am home with them now and have cancelled my preorders at Pulse, but haven't opened anyone ...yet. Cliffjumper will be first, after I log off work for the day.

So I just opened my Earthrise Starscream who I bought from eBay and he is a thing of beauty! By far my favorite Has/Tak non MP figure. Colors are vibrant and the head sculpt is beautiful!

I noticed on the box art Bumblebee, Arcee, and Galvatron. I wonder if these are future figures in the lineup?

Oh man...this is only my first go at configuring it, but I predict a whole lot of awesome is going to come out of this line.

Wow, I can't lie, ER Screamer does look a little better than Siege. Just hate some that articulation was lost.

I love Cliffjumper, a lot. But something has been bothering me about his lower half, and couldn't figure out what it was until just now.

He looks like he's wearing really tight yoga pants.

I'm thinking of painting his crotch red, Marvel style. Might help with that.

Consider that almost all of Grapple's part are held together by metal pins instead of screws, disassembly may been on the difficult side; When I did the paint wash on my Grapple, I didn't disassemble the figure actually.

What I did was just lightly paint the parts with some acrylic paint and wait for a few seconds for the paint to filled into the panel-lines. I quickly wipe out any excess paint and the same steps was repeated until you're satisfied by how it look.

With the orange parts on Grapple, I used a slightly lighter gray or brown color to highlights the sculpted details without making it stands out too much.

I actually tried to sand the pegs for a bit actually and despite sanding them reduces the chance of breakage, it still doesn't fully solve the issue as the hollow peg just isn't structurally strong enough for several repeated transformation. It's just an experiment of me attempting to see if using a metal pin to reinforce the partially hollow pegs would've fully solved it, and man it did.

I noticed a lot of pins in general on the ER figures so far and relatively few screws.

ER OP has 5 screws that I can see. Siege OP has 10 that I can see.

Cliffjumper has no screws that I can see.

ER Starscream has no screws that I can see, which is impressive for Voyager size. Siege Starscream has 19 screws when I counted.

ER Ironworks, though, has a lot of screws.
