Where are you getting this nonsense from? It’s not made from the same plastic. It’s not a giant bendy axe.

Uh no. The axe in the centurion pack is solid clear plastic. Blast effects are the soft rubbery parts that have been reported to melt plastic.

Energon axe is very solid. No need to worry bout it.

I saw it on here somewhere for sure. Maybe I'm mistaken but it said both the axe and Megs mace were the same plastic. Who knows. Maybe I'm just insane

Never mind me then. Can't buy a Centurion pack at a decent price now anyway. $160 on eBay??

They're both hard plastic, with the mace being even more like standard figure plastic.
Heck, the whole idea that the blast effects eat painted plastic or whatever is a good bit of "the sky is falling" logic.
Some people have experienced a slight degradation in paint if left on for extended times, others haven't. I personally left an effect on Hound's gun for six months just to experiment and all I saw was a slight paint rub and nothing more.

Maybe I heard that the energon cubes being of the same plastic as the blast effects and just assumed it was all the clear plastic pieces of the set??

If I’m not mistaken those are hard plastic too, but I’ve not handled those so can’t say for sure

No, the ones from the Spoiler Packs are rubbery, seemingly the same stuff as the blast effects.

i lost interest in the MP line because of the turn towards extreme Toon accuracy, but the huge rise in prices was also infuriating. The fact that Hound was released at about twice the price I paid for a Datsun, and a third more than i I paid for the MT Hound (which I like a lot more aesthetically) is absurd.

I love that the current mainline is giving us figures that do well at hoarding the originals without being too focused on Toon accuracy, has a nice level of detail, and good articulation. They scratch my itch just fine.

My quick review of recent received figures:

Smokescreen: I partly covered him in my comparison with MP-17 in an earlier post but I'll say he is almost perfect in car and robot mode. If I had any criticism it would be that he doesn't appear to have any back lights, or they just left them the same blue colour as the back of the vehicle!

Trailbreaker: Very nice chunky robot mode. I like the weaponry and gadgetry he gets. Vehicle mode: I like it a lot... aside from the big mass of robot gubbins poking out of his belly. I've seen it in pictures online before, but it's really brings home how bad it is when you have the item. He has a huge backpack/vehicle storage area with loads of space. Couldn't they have utilised that somehow?

Sunstreaker: Decent robot mode. The gun is too loose for him to hold (and the post is too short and his armour gets in the way) but that's okay, as it looks better as a little jetpack anyway. I know that's Sideswipes thing really but maybe he has it on loan or he copied his brothers ideas. I like jetpacks. I nobbled a rifle from Grapple. It looks really good. Thanks to previous poster who had that idea.

Vehicle mode: it would be lovely if I could get it to fit together. To be fair, I think this is a Mardoid issue not a QC issue. There's a part where you're supposed to tab the roof, but I can't seem to line it up right. The problem is I don't have the X-ray vision upgrade installed in my occular sensors so I'm unable to see through the roof so I can line the tabs and ports up right. And I'm worried about pressing too hard and damaging it.

Result: Sunstreaker car a cracky mess. (Ironic when you consider his vain character. That'll teach him.) I may have another go later, maybe with help of a video in case there are any decent pointers. Otherwise he may be in robot mode forever but at least he'll have his jetpack to get around.

    Overall a very nice toy.

I'll cover Runnamuck and Allicon shortly. Shopping to do now.:)

Done with my minor TU's on Sunstreaker.
He really needed some red but I wasn't sold on the solutions others on the forum had found (red vents).
Super in love with him now.
