I LOVE Soundbarrier. His alt mode is a freakin RAMP. That’s amazing. I want at least a dozen.
I'm amused that he's basically "planking" on the underside of the shield/ramp mode.
This is a mixed bag for me. I love the Tetra-Jet mold and the Siege Prime too much so I have no interest in these new molds (Unless they give us Cone-heads).
Wheeljack, on the other hand, is a definite buy on sight because although I prefer the look of my Generations figure it’s broken and I need to replace it.
Cliffjumper I’m on the fence about. He looks cool but I’m happy with my GDO figure. I’ll probably wait until I see if they release a Bumblebee using a different mold. I’m weird and perder them not to be identical.
Hoist and Grapple are probably gonna be wait and see. I like them as characters and they’d be the first figures of them in my collection but something about them just doesn’t satisfy my itch.
I’ll have to see more of the line before I can make anymore judgements
I'm so damn excited about Hoist and the (I hope) inevitable Trailbreaker.
So siege wave 1 had
Micromasters: Battle patrol, air patrol, and the race car patrol.
Battlemsters: firedive, lionizer, blowpipe.
Deluxe: skytread, cog, sideswipe and hound.
Voyager: optimus prime and megatron.
Leader class: ultra magnus and shockwave.
Versus (what I assume is) earthrise wave 1
Micromasters:military and hot rod patrol. Battlemasters: soundbarrier and smashdown.
Deluxe: ironworks, hoist, cliffjumper, and wheeljack.
Voyager: starscream and grapple.
Leader: optimus prime and astrotrain.
Hmmmm I notice a large amount of autobots and nor alot of decepticons in either line. At least in siege decepticons were in all of the size classes.
As someone who never liked G1 Hoist's Robot mode, he's an easy pass for me. Generations Hoist and Trailbreaker are still among my favorite Deluxes, ever. Still, I am happy for those that needed him as G1 as possible.
The more I look at Cliffy, the more I see little bits of MP21 and the more my mind just implodes. He looks friggin fantastic. My money is on Bumblebee sharing the same engineering with an ultimately different looking car mode that may or may not resemble a Beetle. I just hope he's not a repaint with a new head.
I have the 3 main seekers standing on my desk, right now, and no one will ever make me regret that. I've wanted Tetrajets since I was 8 and while these aren't perfect, they're more than close enough for my tastes.
We're getting a new Grapple, which means we're getting a new Inferno and holy crap, that's exciting.
Wave 1 also has Astrotrain, which is good, because I suspect the one that's being released for Siege is probably not going to get great distribution.
Ya’ll thought we saw some monstrosities from the guys who cobbled together 4 or 5 Cog figures.....just wait to see what happens when someone gets their hands on 2 dozen Ironworks.
Someday when I'm bored, I'll see what I can do with 7 The Burts...
I wonder if he's the rumored armored car leader class we're supposed to be getting. This mercenary faction could be really cool. Doubledealer, Lockdown, Octane, Deitrus, that a lot of potential awesome right there.
I think that is what I’m more hyped for... all the remolds and redeco possibilities.
Id be shocked if we don’t see them done in this line.
I agree that the generations figures are fantastic, size aside. I’ll pass on hoist, but I’ll probably bite on Trailbreaker. I wouldn’t mind having another one closer to the original figure. I’ll probably mod it to have a head that homages the G1 toy head.
I think it's really clever that the theme is linking these playsets altogether, and they packed the first wave engineers/builders: Ironworks, Wheeljack, Hoist, and Grapple. It's a really neat way to show that the Autobots are creators and just generally good dudes.
OTOH, I hope this means we really get to see the destructive side of the Decepticons. I hope Starscream as the fighter jet is an indicator that we'll see more wreckers and brutes.
Also, has anyone placed any bets on Octone being a Voyager-class retool of Astrotrain, just without his extra plastic? Because that's where my money is.
I approve of your username, sir.
We’ve got to wait all the way until March, gosh darn it
Big-Daddy: rolls over soundbarrier *snap* :Soundbarrier:MY BACK:Big-Daddy: why did you become a ramp? :Soundbarrier: hmm..... I'm not sure
The upcoming Cyberverse Deluxe figures have surprisingly decent looking blast effects.
From what I understood, the guy doing the live-stream had brought that with him, and they were trying to see whether a deluxe would fit in Optimus' trailer and close up, they tried wheeljack after this as well.
Unfortunately I believe it was stated they had no plans for a roller at this time, and only Cliffjumper is able to fit inside with the trailer closed. However they also stated that this is a mould unique to Cliffjumper for a change
Well, this new line is going to be a problem for me. I keep saying EarthWise. Like Crosswise from Cybertron. And I keep seeing Earthwise not Earthrise. I have to constantly correct myself.
And this new Earthrise Wheeljack shows that Wheeljack really looks like shit with eyes. More than usual. Dear God, why couldn't they just leave his original G1 toy head alone. It was the coolest head/face in the entire line & the cartoon had to fuck it up.
