Got this guy in from Robotkingdom today, and he's great!



Pics are a little yellow due to the lighting in here, but should suffice for now. He's not nearly as white as pictures have made him out to be. He's a very Megatron appropriate shade of dirty white/light grey. Here's a shot of his bio:



He's not quite entirely in robot mode in the package. His back flap needs to be folded up. Make sure to push it up all the way! While it will stay in place with friction, it DOES snap all the way onto his back, giving him that triangular shape behind his head. Also, you can see that he DOES have the Decepticon logo on his back, much like the hidden Autobot logo on Prime.





(as you can see I figured this out AFTER shooting the blue background pics.  ) Robot mode has some nice poseability and looks great. He's got big flat feet and great range in his ankle hinge so he can stay upright in just about any pose you put him in:





The fusion cannon can attach to either arm:



You can also flip it around for an underslung rifle:



Doing so, however, points out a minor flaw with the hands. Due to the way they split in half for transformation, there's no wrist swivel. So to make the rifle look decent as an underarm weapon, the hands end up in a slightly awkward position (the angle of the cannon makes it sit a little oddly with the arm in the regular rotation). It's not hugely noticeable, and a minor gripe in the face of the added functionality, but worth mentioning. Also, the cannon can fire a missile, and it's REALLY easy to push the button during transformation/posing. Just a heads-up. Thanks to Howling for noticing that inserting the missile into Megatron's cannon causes the forward vents to turn purple, much like on Animated Swindle. Also, I've had several people ask if his cannon is compatible with the other WFC figures and vice versa. Sadly, I don't see any hidden way to attach his cannon to Prime or Bumblebee, nor any way for Megatron to hold their weapons. Megatron's cannon plugs onto a rectangular tab on his forearms, and his hands are sculpted without the standard 5mm peghole that the others use. Would have been a neat detail, but ultimately not a huge issue. He looks GREAT when posed with WFC Optimus.

Transformation between Robot and Tank modes is nothing difficult, a little simpler than I was expecting actually. Basically just pop off the cannon, fold him up into a ball, reattach cannon or vice versa. I mean, he's mostly game accurate in both modes, and a great figure overall, just expected a little more from the process itself. Tank mode itself is kind of neat:



That's the hover tank mode, and with a little flip of the treads:



You can have a ground mode as well. The treads seem a *little* on the small side, but it's still a neat little nod to the game mechanics. I wish they'd found a way to integrate the feature into the Autobot figures. Would love a hover mode for Optimus and Bumblebee.

Overall though, another Great addition to the WFC line of figures. Can't wait for Soundwave. Video review is available here:

PROS:
- Great Robot mode
- Mostly game accurate
- Fusion cannon functionality and two tank modes are nice bonues
- Good range of motion for the major limbs, big feet give Megatron LOTS of stability.

CONS:
- Transformation scheme hampers wrist articulation
- Transformation is a little on the simple side
- Fusion Cannon fires missile a little easier than I'd like
- No intercompatibility for firearms between WFC figures.

Is his missile like animated swindle's? I mean when you put it into the ion cannon the detail things change color?

The Tank treads could use some paint to bring out the nice detail.

Looks like it's on a swivel, but the neck plate itself can move up and down.

 

I wasn't gonna bother getting this guy but damn, consider that changed.
He looks awesome.

 

I think this is my most anticipated figure of the upcoming 2010 waves. Prime needs his Nemesis, and this Megatron design is just freakin' brutal looking.
