If I'm being real with it? Once I had them in hand, these blast effects are probably the weakest of the series IMHO. They just look... not like blast effects. Melee weapon add-on? Sure. Doesn't look like it should come out of a gun though.

Rung is a nice addition. Pity he couldnt have been released during the mtmte/ll era but its great to finally have an official version of him.

He popped up at a local comic book store here and I nabbed him. I don't know that he is at US wide retail yet.

Mine, along with the new wave of Micromasters, are somewhere between BBTS in the USA and me in the UK. Most likely held captive by HMRC in Heathrow.......

 

I saw this at Target last week and passed on him. Spotted him again today and decided to get him.

What a fun little toy. I love the face sculpt on this guy. Great figure.

Love the robot mode face sculpt and paint apps. That it transforms into an ornament is even better. I just really like the little guy.

 

Actually, I didn't see it in the instructions, but I believe we're meant to rotate the waist around. He stands better when you do that and the back piece doesn't force him to lean.

 

Tried it. While you're right and he does stand a bit better and less-restricted, his knees have guards in the mold which is usually indicative of being front-facing.

 

So....legs were put on the wrong way? Maybe we just need to reverse them?

Edit: Actually, pretty sure this is the intended assembly. If you do this, the gun is a lot straighter. Prior to this it felt like the front angled down a bit and looked weird.

 

Here are some comparison pics of before and after the swap. It's probably hard to tell much from these, but I think it makes a small but significant improvement to both modes. He stands better and the gun is straighter.

 

I love that his "weapon-mode" attempts to look like his comic alt-mode, even with the limitations of such a small size-class. Even if the orb at the top isn't made out of his chest like in the comics, it's so nice that it's there.

 

also has an ejection pin mark square on the front of the crotch, pretty sure it’s definitely meant to be the back regardless of what works better

but it is a nice alternative for those having issues standing/straightening him up

 

Is Rung ever going to get put up on Amazon or Hasbro Pulse? We never got confirmation that he was getting repacked for Earthrise and it’s looking more and more that his wave is not going to be shipped out now that the transition to Earthrise is happening. I just want to find this guy for a decent price that’s not a stolen Japanese factory sample.
