Personally, I would love a microscale Titan. As a Commander or Leader. Scaled to Micromasters.

Personally I'd want all Pretender characters to have an inner robot that's ideally legend class size and Micromaster sized at the very least and a shell that is at least deluxe sized. I wonder if they can make a leader sized Thunderwing shell that can accomodate a legends sized inner robot with both of them transforming.

I sincerely love my CW Cyclonus, but if a new one is as accurate as Grapple and Hoist he might get replaced.

But that wouldn't even be big enough for Micromaster scale unless you have a different definition for that

Here's one of the guys really dear to my heart. Huffer was the only mini-bot I had as a kid and I have super fond memories of my Mum taking me on a day out in Edinburgh and letting me pick a toy ("just a small one, though"). It'll be twenty years in June since my Mum died, and things like this help to keep her really fresh in my memory. For all those reasons, Huffer is always going to be my favourite Minibot, if not even my favourite member of the Ark Crew.
If the WfC trilogy can do just one more thing for me, it would be to give me a really good version of this guy.

At the risk of causing a firestorm:

I think toon Transformers were better written and handled than the comics, in general, and are the more definitive version. Among other things, the cartoon had comic book writers working on it and they were fairly A-list for the era. IMHO, there’s not a lot better about the comic, which is fairly convoluted, aside from some of the religion and Primus stuff. Bludgeon, Shockwave, and Grimlock’s personalities are the big selling point for me. Season 3 has animation issues but some of the best writing TFs ever had with Marv Wolfman being star talent there.

G.I.Joe is the opposite and had a better talent fit on the comic. The big things of worth from the cartoon for me are Sgt. Slaughter and Serpentor (they could have worked in the comic more; Hama didn’t want to or couldn’t force it), There’s No Place Like Springfield (which Steve Gerber had a heavy hand in and thanks to WGA rules got away with adapting into a Star Trek TNG episode when he was running the writers’ room there), World’s Without End (epic Marty Pasko story, writer of Batman: Mask of the Phantasm,!one of the better DC writers), and the basic IDEAS of the MASS Device, Weather Dominator, and the Dreadnoks having a band called Cold Slither (none of the executions, though). G.I.Joe is a slightly sci-fi war adventure though.

From what I know of both shows, the TF writers had a lot of freedom until Season 4/The Rebirth and Budiansky and Furman were the ones who had to deal with more edicts. The TF cartoon we got was what the writers wanted to give us and the comics often weren’t aside from when weirdo side characters took focus.

The opposite is true with Joe. The comics writers, mostly Hama, mostly got their vision across. The cartoon writers were very frustrated, particularly as they wanted to portray war as hell. World’s Without End was basically their way of doing a PTSD story and “killing off” characters by having them “sacrifice themselves” to stay behind in another dimension. They ended up doing a lot of screwball stuff because they were bored/frustrated. They’d also often pitch Hasbro on 3-5 options and Hasbro would tell them to do all 5 and then the writers would freak out because it was nonsense.

So I have no problem with Joe being fully comics inspired (with a few ideas from the cartoon) and TFs being fully cartoon inspired (ignoring plot holes and taking a few ideas from the comics).

Completely agree here. Also Transformers are a very visual property. The cartoon had the visual adventage of making them look more interesting. None of the marvel comic artist were very successful in showing off the Transformations in a cool way (maybe Wildman). And the comics had all kinds of limitations in color printing. I think it wasn't until Dreamwave that Transformers and Transformations became visually attractive in print.. But that's another story :)

Anyhow for me the cartoon also made a stronger impression and that's why I prefer all figures to be cartoon based.

Not being a Joe fan I remember liking the toon better, but that's coming from a non-fan.
The TF comics actively tried to alter several things from the toon for the worse: Quintesson origin into Primus, Cyclonus and Scourge from Galvatron's for the most part capable Lieutenants into kindergarten jokes...
But what the comics are vastly superior to is that they had some amazing characterizations for the post-86 characters like Thunderwing, Spinister, Bludgeon, Carnivac etc.

    OG Metroplex was severely undersized.

Seems like yall might have different definition of scale.

The definition I'm using is where Micromasters scale to the figure as regular sized figures should based upon the scale in the G1 cartoon in which he was huge. It's fine to have a different personal scale, we all have different ways we think of things which is totally ok

Absolutely agree, if there's one character who deserves an update, it's Huffer. I feel that we'll get one. I'm more interested in a new Pipes than Huffer, but you can't have one without the other. That CW Huffer/Pipes doesn't count. He's really the last of the Ark crew that hasn't gotten a modern update, right?

That’s a beautiful memory and what a wonderful connection to the memory of your mother. I sincerely hope Hasbro grants your wish of an updated Huffer. I’m sure it would mean very much to you.

Yeah, but that's also around the time Furman took over writing in the US. That's when the US comic went from just a toy property comic to proper comic.

Fully agree about Transformers being visual. And not just in design, but in motion. No comic can capture visually what the cartoon did with the actual transformations. There's just something awesome about watching Prime go into his truck mode or the Combaticons uniting into Bruticus that comic panels just can't do justice to.

And of course, let's not forget the transformation sound. That's a sound we'll never forget as long as we live.

Thanks for making me remember his name :lol  Could have looked it up obviously :p
Simon Furman did a lot of things with Transformers that bugs me, but he also did a lot of things that I love.

Hey, remember when we felt like we were definitely going to get this guy? You know how that feels like a more and more remote possibility? You know the weight of expectation that suddenly feels like it's baring down on WfC:III?
    Yeah, me too.

We’ve slowly been getting Japanese G1 characters (Overlord, Soundblaster, Liokaiser) and that makes me optimistic that we’ll get more.
