Hrm. These designs look smaller. You could conceivably use these designs for a Leader class made of Legends if not for the “media scale accuracy” goal.

 

If anything I’d maybe pull what the 3ps are doing and make the combiner thighs a seperate piece

 

I think Jetfire would be a perfect candidate for a leader class figure in this line. But, we all thought the same thing about Star Saber in POTP. So… it probably won’t happen.

 

Personally, I think Jetfire and Star Saber could share a mold. It would probably have to be Jetfire getting an extensive retool though.

First look at siege leader Optimus’s vehicle mode

I really appreciate that the Has/Tak team didn't take the easy out of a simple repaint and opted to instead remold and introduce new parts for this figure. Really thrilled with the work Has/Tak has been doing with Transformers in general right now!

Crazy prediction:

WFC part 2 has a Rodimus. No suffix, just Rodimus. The backstory will set him up as an ancestor of Hot Rod or a deactivated unit Hot Rod will be assembled from pieces of.

He’ll resemble cartoon Rodimus Prime in robot mode.

He’ll have a vehicle mode based on Energon Rodimus.

He’ll get a retool as a new Megatron who will effectively be Dark of the Moon Megatron reinterpreted by way of Generations and G1. An olive drab Rodimus retool.

And this second Megatron will be implied or stated to be Straxus, impersonating the missing Decepticon leader.

Just some crazy speculation.

I think Shockwave is a one off mold use. I can't name any plausible retool targets or redecos that would work. Seriously makes me wonder what the SDCC exclusive will be since for the last two years they have been Leader class redecos. I wonder if SDCC will be a multipack hitting at the $70 price point and the Nemesis prime exclusive from Amazon will be followed by the Skywarp pack or the Firestormer pack.

 

There's always the original toy Shockwave is based on, which I believe was grey instead of purple.

 

I like this design a lot. But I think you'll have to wait for a 3p to jump on these designs. While Siege may still homage these altmodes, the bot mode will most definitely be much closer to g1.

 

Make this guy a new character.

 

They could do a black repaint of Shockwave and make a new character. It's tough to sell new characters to the fandom, even with a great deco. I just can't think of a good repaint/retool of the Shockwave mold.

BTW, I now regret not trying to pick up the Optimal Optimus exclusive. That was a much better paint scheme then regular OpOp... Sigh!

 

Ironhide, ratchet, laserbeack, buzzaw, Rumble, Frenzy, Inferno, Grapple, Prowl, Bluestreak, Smokescreen, Starscream, thundercracker, Skywarp, thrust, ramjet, dirge, rewind, eject, soundwave, Soundblaster, sideswipe, Red Alert, trailbreaker, Hoist, and and 35 years of transformers would disagree with that nonsense

 

Yeah i'd be skeptical of a redeco of Shockwave selling well. Throne of the primes had the mace, the new prime masters and the throne piece plus the new deco. A remold is another story but i'm not imaginative enough to see one.
