In a toyline about pure updates, that's a no brainer

 

Unacceptable assumption. He will be the only figure that’s not g1 show accurate and he will look exactly like this.

Side note: I rlly want modern animated figures now. That show was great.

 

Even though he was never in the show I would love a commander class Magmatron, that or dragon Megatron would be really cool too.

 

Don't take that as anything but speculation. I haven't known anyone who worked at Hasbro since they closed Kenner. LOL

 

In a toyline about updating older toys, I don't anyone should expect any of the Minibots to be anything but Minibots again. Huffer is clearly a semi truck cab, but he will always be a lot smaller than Prime. Doesn't matter of the scale doesn't make sense. He was a Minibot. That's clearly as much thinking as Hasbro is putting behind this line.

 

And that’s been the one thing I think the original CHUG series did better. I don’t want a point-for-point remake of the G1 character model. Give me something inspired by it but with a modern take on aesthetics.

If I wanted the G1 toy, I’d hunt that down. If I wanted the G1 character model, I’d buy Masterpeice or third party. Stringent G1 purity is making the franchise stale and boring. At least with WFC they’re at least trying to flavor it up with Cybertronian alt modes, Beast Wars characters, and some deviations in the design.

 

Slammer makes me want to believe we're getting a new metroplex but rumors and leaks are suggesting we won't  

 

Not sure why Prime and Warpath are here. I guess G1 never does truly piss off nowadays.

Prime and Warpath are there because Kingdom is not 100% Beast Wars and was never going to be 100% Beast Wars

 

The thing is that the mainline toys really haven't gone down the screen accurate rabbit hole until recently, so you might just want to accept the idea that this is the new standard until they see sales fade enough to move on. Even the BW toys are apparently show accurate. SS is using the CAD designs from the movies. It's not just G1 that's doing the screen model thing. It's all of their mainline Generations toys. Toy accurate is now the odd duck in the room compared to screen accurate.

 

The BW toys are accurate, but not downright slavish to it. So no crazy stuff like stretched texturing on the MP

 

hey I totally agree. I loved it when hasbro was making modern interpretations of G1 characters. I’m not huge on giving us G1 with knees and elbows but it’s what we’re getting becaus that’s what the majority wants and I’m a hypocrite because I’m buying them but it doesn’t change the fact that I would like to see more original designs.

That said WFC Bumblebee is tits.

I wonder if this is why were supposedly not getting Terrorsaur. Or maybe Terrorsaur is a Fossilizer now and gets paired with Waspinator?

This will really piss me off if true since we're apparently getting all the Maximals. How can they complete one set but not the other?

I was really hoping for a Deluxe Terrorsaur too.

I like it because they are now going to be my definitive figure for most characters. Unless it's one of my favorites like Blaster or Rodimus, I probably won't get another version.
