Yeah, no. If you know anything about business and brands, you’d know that companies like Hasbro do not make multiple lines and repaints of obscure, far out decos for toylines that are dying.


The fact that Transformers continues to do deep cuts and obscure characters and decos is proof that Hasbro has faith in the brand/that they will sell. If the line was dying, they would not be making canceled G2 repaints only hardcore nerds would understand.


You just don’t like something, and because you don’t like it, you are projecting that your opinion is shaping reality, when in actual reality, it couldn’t be further from the truth.

Unlikely, as Skyquake (G1, but late, hence the blurring with G2) was released. I'd say he's more likely bound to be a Selects release. Universe Thunderclash redeco however...

 

I think Hasbro could call it G2 skyquake if they wanted. They have done weird symbols for figures all the time, so skyquake having the G2 Decepticon logo is par for the course

 

So we know the con starts at 10 AM EST, and whatever other time zones (I've replied myself) but it just occurred to me that I don't know when they become available to order on Walmart.com?

The Walmart Collector Con is on Thursday and Friday.
If the reveal for the Toxitron Collection subline is indeed on Thursday then we aren't so far off as the reveals start at 10am EST (which is 10pm Singapore, Malaysia & The Philippines time).
Approximately an hour and 20 minutes left...

Oh yeah and expect to see some actual product images of the G2 "blue tiger stripes" Grimlock redeco.

Not sure how this line means the toy collection industry is dying. Actually looks like it’s hitting the mark. There seem to be more positive responses in this thread, over the few doom and gloom and the why can’t we get the released G2 color schemes crowds. This is the line flourishing, giving life to unused color schemes that some of us want and what Hasbro thinks may also appeal to others, like kids, impulsive buying parents and casual nostalgic collectors. I’m pretty sure they seen the posts where things like this have been asked for and they’ve decided to deliver. We know their team loves the brand, too and want to release what they can, when they can. Sorry that you feel like it’s a dying industry, but seems more like your projecting your dislike of this line into a doom and gloom scenario, when it truly isn’t. Transformers is a multilayered franchise and it will have figures that some of us won’t like, but let’s not forget, there are others that will like what is released. We have variety. We can have some strawberry orange Jazz to go with our vanilla Jazz. Or our Greymon Grimlock to go with the OG King. Or Watermelon Mirage to go with blueberry original. Taste the rainbow.

If the complaint is that an exclusive line is only repaints, then I can only chuckle. Yeah, exclusives are bad and all, but since they don't appear to be going away, this is the best possible outcome.
