So Soundwave has both crotch and butt buttons? Why?

 

You talking about the Earthrise one? I'm guessing the transformation has him twisting at the waist. But they knew people would throw a fit if he didn't have buttons on his crotch so...both.

 

Nah, the only reason his transformation involves rotating the waist is to get the tape deck buttons onto the front - otherwise it's entirely a negative, as it makes the sides of the tape deck inaccurate, and requires the panels that stick off the back of the sides of the legs. So the waist swivel for transformation is a result of the fake buttons, not the other way around.

It seems like they simply deemed the buttons from the Siege figure not good enough to actually be the tape deck buttons, and opted for a new button panel on his butt rather than a new, chunkier pelvis.

 

That tape deck mode is a dream come true! Not too sold on the bot mode though, even with the retooling he looks near identical to the siege version.

 

Any clue when this wave is expected to hit shelves? Loving the Prime and Soundwave

Yea, my preorders say the 17th and 21st of October. Granted, this is walmart and they could get pushed back like wave 1 did
