So if these are wave 1, then hopefully a wave 2? Hmm
Honestly thoroughly disappointed these are just rehashed Titans Return figures in G1-esque boxes... Back in the day I never could find Brainstorm, so I guess that’s good I have another shot at him. But jeez... not releasing the original G1 toys?
To be honest, Mindwipe is actually the one I'm most excited to get in this packaging.
Are the links up yet? not seeing info in the chain yet.
We knew this is what these would be pretty much since the listings popped up a month or two ago, thanks to Pixelmaster and Apollux.
can i ask why? genuinely curious here, not bashing, because he was immediately on my “pass” list and i’m wondering what appeals to others.
Yes,I know it doesn't mean the end of the reissues at all.I mean this is the end of the current run of the G1 reissues and they just replacing the line with this and it disappointing.I was confused when they first show the packageing until they show the Takara Titan Return Headmasters figures with minor changes.I am glad people have another chance to get these but it seems to lazy.Plus, I knew this would be coming but not in this way.
I’m cautious about this line. The TR wave 1 deluxes I got were the most disappointing figures I’ve ever purchased. Other than Chromedome, they were all rag doll floppy and the neck connector ports were garbage. I’ve donated figures or given some away, but I actually threw those figures out because they were so bad.
If this line has better QC, I might try them again.
But hey, this is a Walmart line. These are probably going to be two-horned unicorns when it comes to finding them.
This line doesn’t mean the end of the current run of G1 reissues though, that’s the thing. You are making an unsubstantiated assumption based on the fact that these are in retro style boxes. Hasbro has released modern figures in retro packaging alongside reissues in other lines.
So I guess we r never getting G1 reissues then? The box art looks great; the content is disappointing.
I was very disappointed by the weak design. The original G1 had impressive heft. This TR one was wimpy and tiny. I want to like it, but I can't ignore reality.
its great KB toys will them too
But Walmart has been getting the G1 reissues.
This isn't a case of "I bet they like TR better!!! Let's do THAT!"
More like, "The molds are gone? Really? F*ck... The boxes r already finished... You know what? Just stick the new ones in the box!"
Well, since I been told that this line of Headmasters is a retro line and not a G1 reissue line but that doesn't mean the G1 reissue line ended but will be continue to co side with this line.
There are KOs of G1 HMs available now. If Chinese companies can reproduce them, I wonder why Hasbro won't?
We have the technology! We can make him faster, stronger!!
I shouldn't posted my dang opinion about this.
Like the G.I. Joe Retro's Filecards the Tech Specs here are worthless. I guess I'll be making replacements like I am for the Joe Filecards
Or they wanted more exclusives and hasbro decided to go the retro route like they do with black series, marvel legends and gi joe
nobody has said the g1 reissues are done, hell blaster just came out. As long as those reissues sell them they will continue and if the retro style stuff sells then those will continue as well.
Why confuse the product lines?
To re-phrase: if Hasbro released G1 versions tomorrow, how would they be packaged???
These boxes are clearly for G1 reissues. When Hasbro wants to release "G1-inspired" toys, they are more than capable of doing new G1 art... Of course, im no expert on G1 art, so maybe this is new art? The Mindwipe box looks G1 tho.
I grew up on G1, but the toys are definitely dated. I like my figures to have articulation. Even just legs that aren’t fused together are nice. (Yes, I’m aware most G1 Headmasters had unfused legs). I would much rather have nice updated versions of characters over G1 reissues.
