I finally removed the Devastator from his insert tray and combined him.



Holy pants, this thing is sumptuous. I've owned about 5 vintage Devastators - from Mexican IGA G1 to Ceji France G1 and the Hasbro - and I actually think this compares beautifully. He is solid as a rock, shiny as heck and I am completely in love with it. Plus, dat box.

I drove 1 and a half hr to my Walmart and the shelves were empty in germantown md... What a waste of time for me. Walmart thanks for nothing!

 

he's one of my favorites. amazing for the time period and still holds up today. he is more solid than a lot of modern combiners. idc that he parts forms. that's perfectly fine for a combiner. simple transformations for a combiner are a must. i have a lot of versions of devy and i love them all. devy rules.

driving 30 mins one way for me is the farthest i will go to check a store. just not worth it.

 

I went to Walmart to pick up a devy since it said now in stock showed it was in stock , the lady was kind enough to let me open the boxes, and all but one was crushed, .Even all the hot rods were damaged. So it could be that some of these damaged online orders could be straight from the box like that ?? Unfortunately since I'm only getting these for the box the only one that was okay looked like this. Kinda looks like if I opened it lol

 

Well according to brickseek my walmart said they have 8. So i think in the morning I'm going to try and travel to pick up one and maybe a couple of POTP figures i need.

 

Spotted all of the G1 figures minus the Mini Bots today, as well as Legon, Power Plus, and Nitro Bumblebee Movie Toys.

 

All I am seeing is Devastator at our Walmart’s. Nice that they are getting the more expensive figure out of the way. No Starscream or Hot Rod yet. I would have thought the mini bots would be out by now.

 

Been checking Brickseek and noticed the quantity was going down so I figured my local Walmart put them out. Yup, they did! I got 2 Devastators, 1 Hot Rod, and 1 Starscream. Now I just need the minibots. Glad I waited to find these in stores rather than getting them online. Patience paid off in this case.

did brickseek ever indicate they had them in stock? I'm close enough to that one where I could swing by, but only if brickseek was telling me there was stock. Been burned way too many times with stock levels  

 

Wow!!!! Not only the G1 guys which is amazing to see in stores again incidentally, but your Walmart has Blot and Sinnertwin too!!  

 

for me i always saw g1 transformers in kb toys at the mall. we never went to tru.

 

Any sightings in New England? Brockseek still states either 0 or no information returned in MA.

Does this lack the head gun from the G1 or did you just not place it on for photography? Just curious. Also - did you encounter any issues with attaching Devastator's accessories? There was someone, forget where, that indicated this had a g1 Long Haul mold issue existed where the gift sets lacked a slot for one of the pieces that was present only in the carded version?

 

I left the head gun in the box, and I think that issue is a non-event as I had zero issues combining him, and he held solid as a rock! I want to say that slot in Long Haul's grille might even have been for help keeping the chest wing on, but that attaches very securely to Hook.

Thanks! I've been piecing together a historical G1 line from Pre-Transformers to this one & would have hated to not be able to assemble for the display case.

 

The Walmart’s in my area will never look like that.
