The Sunbow Marvel Archive now hosts a sizeable chunk of Transformers paperwork that once belonged to G1 voice director Wally Burr. Some revised items are awaiting full scans, but in the meantime there is:

    • Full scripts and call sheets for Five Faces Of Darkness, Parts 2-5 and The Killing Jar.
    • Handwritten dialogue for John Moschitta Jr's ADR session on FFOD Part 3, covering Blurr, Wheelie and a Quintesson Judge
    • A second set of TF audition sheets
    • Non-TF audition sheets for roles won by the following Transformers alumni (in chronological show order): Michael Bell, Corey Burton, Susan Blu, Peter Cullen, Gary Chalk, Scott McNeil and Tara Strong
Additionally, major items that formed part of Wally's collection and have resided at the Archive for some time are also gathered together. Such as the major influx of audition sheets at the beginning of this year and the full Transformers The Movie storyboards.

To view them all, head to: The Sunbow Marvel Archive: The Wally Burr Collection

Really cool! I wonder why "P. Cullen" is credited as the voice of Trypticon in that last callsheet though.... Or am I reading it wrong?

Because he was brought in to voice the Matrix ghost of Prime and since it was just a few incidental roars, he was put on the slate for Trypticon.

This is the part of FFOD where Wheelie’s voice was different I believe. Maybe there was something wrong with the original recording and they brought Moschitta in to redo his stuff and he covered redoing Wheelie as well?

EDIT: read it more carefully. Seems that’s exactly what it is. I wonder what “slow Moschitta didn’t work” means exactly.

It means that Moschitta talking slower didn’t sound good.

    Probably, at least for Wheelie.
I’m sure this happens a lot.
Dan Galvezan talked about getting both Bumblebee and Spike, but they changed and went with Corey Burton for Spike (probably after realizing how many scenes the two have together… at least, that’s what Dan thought).

But we’ve all heard Moschitta’s slow talk in a few different capacities by now. He sounds good! :D

Fun Fact, literally the other day my girlfriend saw Blurr and was like “There’s no way they didn’t speed up that guys voice!”
I showed her old Micro Machine commercials and told her the legends of John Moschitta Jr.

She actually thought it was really cool!

Lots of cool stuff here. Interesting to me are the audition sheets. So few of them had model sheets to look at -- which clearly was annoying to Wally Burr.
    Some standout realizations:
    • I guess Jay Bacal was the one who thought to cast Chris Latta as Starscream.
    • Tailgate was originally supposed to be a drag racer with a James Dean style voice.
    • Many of the 84 Autobot audition sheets have dialogue describing scenes of them piloting (space?)crafts, such as Wheeljack, Bumblebee and Prowl. There must have been early drafts of the pilot where the Autobots spent more time piloting the Ark.
    • Scatman Crothers apparently didn't have to audition for Jazz (or Jazzz as originally spelled) - he was just cast.
    • Frank Welker was also an early consideration to play Megatron ("Read Welker" is handwritten on Megatron's audition sheet).
