Rodimus Prime can be in the movie if the makers want it. They can always throw something like a transformer can rise to become a Prime if he has a pure heart and proves himself blah blah...and Megatron can't become a Prime cause he's EVIL~!

Yeah, Hasbro's. Fortunatly he did for them, giveing them more money.
But Rodimus unleashing the Matrix only darkened the Hour for Kid's who became traumatized with Prime's death.

I don't think that Rodimus Prime should be included. Hot Rod is fine, but as a Prime he was awful.

    This.

If he turns up in one of the live action movies he needs to stay as Rodimus or Hot Rod, but NOT a Prime.

i know this is gona sound kinda stupid, but what if Rodimus/Hot Rod was Optimus son and to be rebel, he goes by the name Hot Rod or his nick name is Hot Rod, when his real name is Rodimus.

I liked both Hot Rod and Rodimus Prime. I have to say though that if this character was introduced into the 3rd installment it should just be Hot Rod. Unless the story takes an animated style route where multiple prime's exist, then I guess Rodimus Prime would be cool!

yea, i'd MUCH rather see hot rod in the movie verse then rodimus.

    but "primes are born"

well if they are born, why can't rodimus be born a prime, too? why does he have to be "hot rod" first?

Because Rodimus Prime is a separate kind of Prime from The Thirteen.

An explanation: The Thirteen are the very first of the Thirteen Transformers created by [insert Primus and/or the All Spark]. According to Hasbro canon, they are singular, multiversal beings, which means there's only one of them in all of the various Transformers universes. The ROTF supporting material describes them as "transdimensional beings" and The Fallen as an "omni-versal tyrant".

That means The Fallen seen in The War Within comic is the same guy who appears in Revenge of the Fallen. It is rather unlikely that the movie will contradict this.

In all likelihood, the reason why a previously-established Prime character wouldn't be a member of the Thirteen (Optimus Prime isn't one) is to avoid confusion. There are already multiple Rodimus Primes across several universes.

No. No no no! You can't randomly shove in previous Autobot leaders as the Thirteen.

so then, couldn't they just "change the name" of just that one prime to something else? :lol

Anything is possible. Remember, in TF1 there was a character named Devestator too? Now they're using it again? Anything is possible... don't worry.

Honestly, he could be worked in, but don't expect some kind of G1 depiction the way the plot is currently flowing....... heck they said that they ain't crazy about doing "RED" Transformers in general cause the CG does not work well..... soo.....

Well...Optimus could always have a son... or they could just bring in Rodimus and not have him replace Optimus as Leader.

I'm probably nitpicking, but it's more to do with the filming of the real world vehicles, and less to do with the CGI. Still, red is one of the colors that is tricky to work with. Especially when working with green screen.

Yeah, Hot Rod/Rodimus (Whatever They'll call him) can be worked into the Movieverse easily and NOT be a "Prime". I don't know why everyone automatically thinks because Hot Rod could be in the next movie, that Prime will have to die to make room for him.

The 13 Primes do not work for the movieverse cannonically as there was explicitly 7 Primes while Optimus is a descendant Prime.

Six made themselves a tomb, one rebelled starting the Decepticons, one is leading the Autobots.

As for Rodimus Prime its not possible unless Optimus fathered himself a hatchling he wont be called a Prime.

Not to mention the Fallen considers Optimus the last Prime.
