Well in the movie since the original 13 Primes are shown (according to the book I didn't see the movie yet) and OP says something about Primes are born not made then Rodimus Prime can't be made? I guess he could appear as Hot Rod and stay Hot Rod (Maybe act like G1 Bumblebee or even his own G1 self maybe?) but I guess he can't turn into Rodimus Prime unless if he is just called "Rodimus" I'm not sure, thoughts?  

 

i could see optimus wanting to restore the order of primes in the way padawan become jedi knight and knight,master.so it could be a given title for autobots of great power

Well, if they really want Rodimus Prime in it, then they'll probably find a way to get him in, even if he has to be born as Rodimus Prime instead of Hot Rod. But I doubt that they'll make Rodimus Prime step in as leader, because then Optimus would die and I don't think a lot of the fans would like to experience that again. And if Optimus does die, then I'd see Ultra Magnus or even Ironhide take command of the Autobots. Man, if only Jazz still was alive, then he would have become leader one day.

 

For the movies, I prefer Hot Rod to Rodimus Prime.
Since in them movies, Optimus will never die, there is no place for another Prime as a leader like Rodimus Prime.
In the end of G1 season 3, I seem to remember Rodimus reverting back to Hot Rod after Optimus Prime came back. In the japan Headmasters, Rodimus Prime continued as a Prime and guest star.

The movies made Optimus the last Prime so it does look like even Vector Prime, Sentinel Prime, etc. are all dead. Or maybe the Fallen only thought that Optimus was the last Prime and other Primes actually survived also.

 

Good point, maybe they made it the way they did in the movies to make sure there won't be a Rodimus Prime.  

 

I would hope that if they do introduce the character, he will just be Hot Rod. He could be similar to his G1 self and always disobey orders and get into alot of trouble, while trying to prove himself to Optimus.I don't think he would need to become a Prime to make him work in the movieverse.

Um I have a feeling that those names will be given to the 13 that Sam meets in "Transformer Limbo" because how many Primes were there anyway? I am only familiar with the obvious ones... and does Primus count as a Prime or did he make the Primes? And isn't Primus actually Cybertron?

 

People have an emotional attachment to Optimus Prime, not Rodimus Prime. Hot Rod is a really cool character. Rodimus however isn't. Leave him out, he's a mistake.

 

I'd rather have Ultra Magnus in movie 3.

 

since he was put in animated I think he got a new start with the TFA fans.

 

I don't watch animated but is Prime now dead, and Rodimus now leading? If so I'm really glad I don't watch it.

 

maybe the movie-verse version of hot rod is sideswipe? when i first saw his pics, i immediately thought about hot rod/rodimus prime. just a thought!

i loved hot rod but as rodimus prime he was unable to make choices and often unsure of himself. but he was a prime seeing how the matrix made him grow and some what wiser and did nothing for magnus(i'm going of the cartoon movie) still he was a prime and should somehow be a part of the legacy of the primes.

 

Now that you mention that, it's got me thinking the same thing. lol
