I was reading the Movie Universe book and apparently Jetifre is 25" tall, 3" smaller than Optimus Prime. So what does this have to say about his combined mode? It didn't state wheather it was his full height but I assumed that it was, because they did state that Devestator can't assume his full height.
In G1, Jetfire was a large plane like a cargo plane and all the Autobots would ride inside of Jetfire. In the movies, Jetfire is a smaller jet and should be about as large as Starscream and Optimus.
I remember seeing an ep of G1 when they found Jetfire. I was just suprised to see that and I thought it was wrong because they said Devastator was 45" tall. Maybe that's when he's on all fours.
Considering the SR-71 is A LOT bigger than a Prime's truck I'd say he's bigger. (Plus the scene with the fallen teleporting in, Jetfire was in the background and was the same size as Prime, even though he was 200 yards away.) And never compare scales to G1. EVER Thats the same series the has Devastator bend down to smash a CITY DOOR, then walk through the door standing up.
AHAH i never got the scale for G1 megatron is huge and yet can some how shrink down into a gun form that and decepticon can fit in there hand i mean WTF is up wit htaht lol lol jetfire has gotta be in the scale of megs in height and at least as big s the fallen dont forget hes got the hunch back soo yaa lol possibly could have been even taller
Jetfire is about 50' tall at least. He towers over a C141 in the clips and they're about 40' tall. He's considerably larger than Prime and probably any decepticon in the movie except the Fallen and Devastator.
Yeah all Transformers that turn into planes and helicopters, their height is about half the length of their vehicle mode. Take Starscream. An F-22 Raptor is 66 feet Nosecone to Thruster so he's 33 feet in height (As it says in the movie guide and 1st videogame guide). Blackout is massive. An MH-53 Pavelow Sikorsky Helicopter is about 88 feet in lenth. Now look at Blackout (Or Grindor, whoever the hell that's supposed to be) in the official trailer when prime is going at him, swords ablazing. Blackout is around 44 feet, half the lenth of his vehicle mode. now onto Jetfire. The SR-71 Blackbird is 107 feet. Jetfire then is 53.5 feet! Just look at him in the Official trailer when he kneels down to Sam Witwicky. It's pretty obvious he's alot taller than Prime. Plus the "Power-up Prime" Jetfire/Prime combo art: Jetfire is like a Mech suit for Optimus Prime lol. If the toy was to be accurate, they should have made Jetfire a supreme class (Not the rediculous $100 price tag, standard $50-$60). IMAGINE THAT on your shelf. That would be my holy grail. Hope that this post clears some things up. If anyone has anymore questions on a Transformers size/scale let me know. Always happy to help!
Transformers = no scale its a rule but if jetfire is shorter it should not really matter since he just becomes a exo armor like a Shinki
Exactly how is it a rule Saberconvoy? This is the movie-verse portion of the franchise were all other elements to previous or future universes do not apply (Except for the basic stuff, Characters etc.) We're talking about a live action movie which means things need to be realistically done or else it will come off as fake. The SR-71 is more than 4X longer than the peterbilt truck they (Bay and Co.) used for Prime. It only makes sense that Jetfire is a shitload bigger than Optimus.
To be fair, it does appear that he spends a lot of time hunched over, leaning on a cane. That could make his height a little dubious.
You can see in one of the TV spots that he's taller then Prime even when hunched over. That and the whole "Taller then a bigass plane" thing that was mentioned already. And yes, the book is full of bullshit. You can see in both the movie and game trailers that Devastator is at LEAST 60ft when he's walking on all fours, let alone when he's standing upright.
Yeah, the book is utterly nonsensical. Oh for... Look! His offscreen elbow has got to be over 20 feet off the ground right there, hunkered way down. Oh and Him66fan? That was actually addressed. G1 Megatron overtly shrinks, duh. Like Soundwave. Happens right on screen. You watch them get smaller as they transform. That has nothing at all to do with the wild scale problems the G1 cartoon suffered from. - Coeloptera
