i am really torn between getting either the leader or the voyager megs movie figure, i can't afford to get both. i would want to get the leader figure to match my leader optimus (in size comparison), but im not too fond of the alt tank mode, it looks terrible, and the fact that he does not have a elbow on his cannon arm. i like the look of the voyager figure, but obviously the size does not compare to the leader optimus. does anyone have both who would recommend one over the other? at this point it kind of is a toss up.
Personally I'd say leader. I thought I wouldn't like the leader class Megs, but I caved one day and bought him and found that despite the lack of elbow he was pretty cool. And his tank mode looks better in person. Leader Megs has a more accurate robot mode. Voyager Megs sort of has a more accurate vehicle mode.
One more vote for the Leader as well. The cybertron tank mode looks a tons better in hand. And the lack of elbow joint doesn't hurt much as the figure is still very cool and fun to play with
Leader without a doubt. I think I'm the minority here but, I really don't get what people see in the voyager. I think the thing is ugly as hell with the whole green-with-a-giant backpack-and-weird-ass-head mold. IMO
Voyager is very cool and the mold is quite accurate aside from the wing kibble, which can be posed to look awesome anyway. He may not have the sheer size and scale with Prime, but he looks awesome next to Voyager Starscream. It was a tough choice for me as well, but I went with the Voyager in the end. The flaws of the Leader were just too great to justify the price. I'll probably get the Leader eventually anyway to go with my future Leader Starscream
I bought the leader and I really do like it. I would get the voyager if it wasn't for the horrid green color.
have you guys looked at the voyager's right hand? With the claw in and out its 100% movie accurate. The voyager's right hand is his defining feature in the movie so without that claw/cannon the Leader is not ROTF Megatron.
Depends how much the green bothers you. I say Leader, but thats only because I can't stand the green.
I would go with the voyager. It's more movie accurate, except for the green, and it's cheaper than the leader fig.
Voyager, I might pick up Leader Megatron when he goes on clearance. But I like the voyager better and the colors.
Umm.... the leader has the claw and cannon on his right arm as well. I don't get what you're getting at there. They both have it. Tough call, man. I was going through the same thing, and just caved and bought both. Since you only want to go for one, I'd say Leader Megatron. Now, I DO love Voyager Megatron, but as awesome as he is, he is still about a half inch shorter than Voyager Prime. Alone, or with The Fallen and Voyager Starscream, he looks awesome though. With Voyager you get: -Good scale with The Fallen, Starscream -Elbow articulation on his death arm -Better looking claw-blade thing -Waist movement -Great head sculpt and overall detailing The cons for the figure are: -He's a little short for a Voyager Figure (this IS Megatron, afterall) -Child-bearing hips and thunder thighs. -Weird leg angles -Gimp arm still looks weird -"Squished" looking tank mode I don't mind the green. I rather like it. With the Leader Megatron, you get: -In scale with Leader Prime, and will be in scale with future Leader Starscream -Is closer to the right colors of Megatron -Better looking legs, hips, and thighs -Tank mode looks far better in hand than in pictures or perhaps even in videos -More in scale with a lot of other Autobot figures The cons for the figure are: -No elbow in gun arm -Over-sized claw thing -Inaccurate tank mode -Gimpy left arm but better than Voyager's gimpy arm I would be very happy with either, but ended up wanting both as neither really serve as better substitutes for one another. It seems like the Voyager ones are better sellers though. The leader Megatrons are plentyful. I got the Voyager one first for that reason. He's an evil looking little SOB, but a rather small evil looking SOB. Despite the flaws, Leader still wins out for me. If only V Megs was a inch taller, that may not have been the case. Both are great figures though. That probably didn't help much, but I hope it was at least some help.
I got the Voyager at Botcon. I didn't think I'd like the green, but when I saw him on display I decided it looked better in person. The design is great, the arm is a perfect match for the film, and the tank mode is pretty cool. Also he is very poseable, and is a good scale against the majority of the line. Even if he's not huge and towering over them, he's still very imposing and evil looking.
