I will say this right now. I do not like Starscream's design in Bayformers. At all. He looks like a fat owl-crab. His personality is barely there in the movies. So, I found the toys to be just as distasteful, especially the first movie Voyager class Starscream's, with their disgusting undercarriage and their sextuplet firing mechanisms. Then I saw the mold for the ROTF Voyager Class, and I thought it looked better, but then... THE TATTOOS. WHY?! It completely makes him stand out as a target, he doesn't blend in anymore. So I turned my back on him forever. Until that is, I went to my Local Kmart. Nebular Starscream.... The Aztec-Cybertronian symbols in that unique green... It caught my eye. I was never one for repaints that are just like an alteration of the same character. (Night ops Optimus, or stuff like that.) But I had to buy this one for some reason. Anyone else like this repaint?
It is awesome. Shinyness = winness. And if you got it for that insane clearance price KMart has had it marked at recently, congrats. Leader Starscream is still leaps and bounds better, though.
I had to get this guy the moment I saw him. Not only did he fit for a part in my comic, but he is just WIN. Plus I didn't get the first version of this mold since I got the first movie Starscream figure, and I figured this would be a great way for me to get the new Starscream.
I think the main reason why I like it so much is the unique color of the paint, I've never seen a turquoise green like this.... so SHINY, IT IS HYPNOTIC! Ya know what I mean?
I have never been able to find a Starscream from any line, anywhere. It's insane. So I have to say it. Nice find!
I bought mine for $10, and I'm glad I did. I really like the color scheme, and the green makes the "tatoos" seem a lot more electronic, as if he has some sort of Cybertronian circuit board all over his alt mode. I'd say that Starscream sorta feels like Megatron at this point where "blending in" isn't really his agenda
I watched those suckers sit on a shelf for months because I don't like movie toys in general, though there are exceptions. His colors are what drew me in. Then he got clearanced to $19. Still no bite. Then an extra 50% off clearance it for a weekend and I bought him. Good thing, because they were all gone the following weekend... I actually like him infinitely better than movie 1 SS...
I ended up getting him super cheap, so that was icing on the cake. I dig the color scheme. Its very different and alien looking. Plus, I like andes mints.
I got him b/c of the shiny green paint, and then ended up trading him away b/c he was the same old flying squirred looking robot.
Duuuude, that repaint is awesome. I think I'll hold out on buying Nachoscream until I see one of those fellas over here.
