are there any good ones out there, official or 3rd party? My current optimus is the itf abyss and megatron is megasteel tronus. I don't need nemesis prime to match optimus' body but I'd like him to be about the same height, I just don't know what's out there
I love the Classics SDCC 2008 Nemesis Prime. As for 3rd Party there's Tyworld's Orionvil, it's pretty impressive.
The only time I ever thought that color scheme looked good and "worked" was Rid 2001 Scourge, who is roughly voyager size. Part of the problem here is that the "nemesis Prime" character colors have fallen out of favor, so any suggestion would be on the old side. Maybe wait and see if someone is up for doing up the new TR Voyager Optimus as scourge?
It depends on your style preference and budget, but there are options: For official, there's Universe, United, Animated, Prime First Edition, Prime Beast Hunters, AOE Voyager, and Dark of the Moon Darkside Prime. For 3rd Party, there's Orionvil, and the recent KBBMPP10-V (Voyager sized MP-10 KO) will likely be repainted black. There are probably others I'm leaving out, but that's what I can think of off the top of my head.
I used to have the SDCC version and loved it but I admit it doesn't have the red windows so it may not work for many. Personally I'm waiting (hoping) for the TR version to be turned into Nemesis/Scourge.
Black Convoy (not scourge), is one of my favorite decepticon figures. For a figure of that era, good articulation good weapons, and a great vehicle mode. Remember the figure originally was G2 laser prime from the 90s. If you could get an SDCC Nemesis prime, i'd say go for it. I never wanted one so I don't know the prices or if they are rare
Currently I'm hoping tr prime gets repainted to black convoy/scourge. Other than that I do like the classics nemesis prime and I've been eyeing the shattered glass itf abyss as a sort of nemesis standin
Personally, I'd recommend the Nemesis Prime from Universe 1. I just find it to be the most interesting out of all the Nemesis Prime figures because: - he's not a truck - he has more colors than just black, silver and teal and as a result, he doesn't look like just another Scourge.
I use Unite Warriors Grand Scourge as mine, who was also recently revealed to be the RID/Car Robots Black Convoy in Baldigus's comic. I know Takara will do TR Laser Prime as Scourge though, they have too.
I have the SDCC Nemesis Prime and he's decent save for the lack of sword and red windows, there was a Takara exclusive Black Convoy that corrected these issues. Also, I have my eye on the black repaint of Maketoys Striker Manus and I believe there is an MP/CHUG RID Scourge coming out at some point from one of the third parties.
Only issue with that for me is that I already have a big convoy and a scourge type character is what I'm going for
This is what I'm waiting for. From what I've read, it's a pretty sure thing. I will absolutely buy one of these. The regular version is my CHUG Optimus Prime, and I don't know that I'll ever buy another Voyager-class Optimus again.
I'd say there's a near guarantee that the current Voyager Titans Return Optimus mold is going to get a Black Convoy repeat by Hasbro or Takara. I think that'd be a good one to hold out for. There's also Unite Warriors Grand Scourge which is okay (imo). The mold isn't my favorite Optimus, and there's too much gold for my taste. You might dig it, though! On the official route, MakeToy's Striker Noir is looking pretty slick. Comes with pretty cool weaponry too.
