I generally hate when they do that too, but it really doesn't bother me, on this guy. Probably because the detailing looks so little like actuall truck parts. It's not nearly as offensive as Power Master Prime's false cab front torso.

So there goes your "No movie toy, more Gundam kits" strategy. Maybe? ;)

SWC, thank you for sharing, great pics! I am not very excited over Prime figures, but I dig the truck mode :D

I wonder what he would look like with either Classic Prime's or Alt Prime's Head?

somebody going to botcon should ask the obvious question: do they intend to repaint this as an ultra magnus?
if they do, I'm sold for once. it's just different enough from the $40 version that I can accept it as a different character easily. a warrior based on prime, but not actually him... ya know? I just don't tend to like having two of the same character from a given line (unless they're drones, like the rumbles or doomlocks or anything like that)

    Quickie splice

Amusingly, it seems Alt Prime has a smaller head than Movie Voyager Prime. Then again, Alt Prime was always a bit pinheaded.

The classics prime head was taken from a different, non-side-by-side photo, so the scale of the head is very likely off.

Thanks for the gallery..You were lucky, i wanted this version too, the darker with less/different paint applications, but it was sold out by the time I got enough money to get one...this new Final/Target version was all that was avaialble. Mine should be here probably next week..But I was able to order just about every Voyager Figure outside of Bumblebee and Jazz. I have to admit..I was thinking Prime would be just a bit larger though. Still a very excellent figure..And for some reason I do like that he's kinda on scale to the Gen-1 version..Neat-o

To be honest, although you've done a great job splicing those heads onto Voyager's body, none of them look right on him. They're all very obviously a different toy, if you see what I mean.

I agree entirely. As I was doing it, I couldn't help but think afterwards how much more right those images made the real head look on that body.

can someone photoshop this movie voyager prime with the alternators prime head? and also remove the flames! Please? - ooooops sorry I never saw the quick splice done on earlier posts.... the two heads classic and alternators prime seems to be too big for voyager prime

It's not so much the size, the heads just don't match the design aesthetic of the rest of the figure at all.

Oh, and from the side by side picture of alt prime and voyager prime... voyager prime's head is roughly the same size if not a little bigger than alt prime's. Classic's prime's head can't be used for scale either, as I didn't have a side-by-side shot to ensure they were at the same scaling.

Looks like I'll still prefer Classics Prime but that's not bad. I agree that the proportions are wonky.

The thing I like least is how much grey there is on the arms, it just doesn't look right.

That is one BIG BULKY truck. *thumbs up* Most outstanding figure.
I prefer it more than the 'leader' version. This one has far less kibble, more accuracy and better posability, from the looks of it...
But that still won't stop me from getting them both.

Only 10 more days till they're out in Germany... C'mon... C'MOOON!! XD
*wanders back and forth infront of "amazon.de"*
(once I get em I'll make sure to take a lot of photos)
