Between the two figures, which do you think is the better of the two?

Megatron, by far. Better transformation, better details, better articulation, loads of character and good accessories.

Megatron. Just give him Evasion Prime's shotgun and he's set.

    Megatron !

Although I do have to say, Megatron's shoulder articulation is NOT great ; because his shoulder rotation is not on the point where his arm attaches to his
torso - its rotation point is where his shoulder "pad" connects to his torso.

This creates the weird effect of practically having a tiny torso, at least... in proportion to his overal height.

In fact, if you look at Megatron's torso and head, he basically a Deluxe with voyager size limbs. Heck, even his vehicle mode simply proves he's actually Deluxe size.
Or... go and compare DOTM Megatron's headsculpt size to ROTF Megatron's headsculpt size ( hint.... only TF1& ROTF Megatrons are truly voyager sized )

I would have to say the same. DOTM Megatron is one of the best movie figures in my opinion: little to no kibble, decent proportions, cape and hood accessory, nice alt mode, fantastic face sculpt, decent articulation. The only flaws are his cannon is too heavy and looks odd and the lack of paint apps. But if you can get the Takara special version of him, he looks great.

I like them both a lot, but Megatron a tad better. His hobo look and alt mode have a lot of character.

DOTM Megatron is by far my favorite iteration of the Bayverse Megatron/Galvatron character/toy. Mad Max tanker truck-o-doom alt mode plus hobo with a shot gun bot mode > fancy Argosy truck alt mode plus backpack Pacific Rim bot mode (still a fan of Pacific Rim, mind you :D ). Both figures sorely need paint, however.

DOTM Megatron is one of the best Megatrons in my collection.

AOE Galvatron, on the other hand, is not only the worst Galvatron I ever purchased (much, much worst than even Universe Galvatron), but he's also the worst of the AOE line so far.

Megs takes it by a landslide, and that's BEFORE you give him the the shotgun that came with Prime.

I have to agree that the Takara Chronicle version is great. I wish I bought a second one.

    Lego chains?

As much as I like AoE Galvatron in a fun way, it has to be DotM Megatron by a landslide. In fact, I would go so far as to call DotM Megatron the best Megatron toy (but not my personal favorite in taste) to date. It has very little to no kibble, a unique transformation, complete with no kibble/fake parts, and it is done without shellforming or parts forming. (Save the cannon, but every Megatron seems to part form in that regard.) Great articulation, heck, even the truck mode has articulation! Fantastic detail too. He may be a bit smaller, but so were several DotM voyagers.

Complete with Evasion Mode Prime's gun, DotM Megatron is certainly one of the best Megatron figures ever made, and even beating out each of his previous figures from the other films. Poor AoE Voyager Galvatron just can't possibly be in the same league as him.

I like AOE Galvatron, but DOTM Megs beats him easy.

I went ahead and bought that fig just for the gun alone. lol Its pretty cool and fits Megs well.

I had already given Megs this gatling gun from Kotobukiya.

Haven't been able to take any pics of him with the new shotgun, but here are some old ones of the gatling gun.
