A) I'm not complaining, just pointing out this is a popularity contest, which means it's pretty easy to predict who will and will not place highly.
B) How can you vote for a Famous/Iconic charater if you also have to concider the other often unrelated and unpopular incarnations? So a vote for Prowl is also a vote for the Owl from Beast Wars? a vote for Ironhide is also a vote for that jerk from Energon? A vote For Shockwave is also a vote of a repainted Minicon from Transformers Cybertron? A vote Devestator is a vote for than titanium balled monstrosity from ROTF? Really? Cos if so that is confusing and it sucks and I would like to complain about that!
C) You may like to think each name referes to every single incarnation of that name, but 99% of people will be voting for the G1 version. Personally I think they should stipulate the series, not leave it open ended as you claim it is. As Beast Wars has been stipulated for Dinobot, I put it to you that G1 is the default and is to be assumed unless another series is stiuplated.

Well, if it wasn't already apparent, it looks like Soundwave ran away with it. He received more votes than the 2nd, 3rd and 4th vote getters COMBINED.

 

The way I see it, most Beast Wars character were based on a G1 character type. Dinobot was just the retooled Grimlock (Marvel comics version) for the Beast Wars series. So it just reinforces Grimlocks popularity and importance in the TF continuity. Soundwave AND Grimlock should both have a place in the hall of fame.

 

False. Grimlock is a definite good guy who uses somewhat questionable meathods. Dinobot is a warrior with allegience only to the side with the most honor. Very different. Cause they used to have some pirates here... BUT HE ATE THEM ALL FOR LUNCH!
