I'd like the Decepticons to be not only stronger or brutal in TF4, but I'm looking forward to seeing their advanced weaponry, considering their technology is far more advanced than ours. A good example is District 9, I don't have to go into the details. Shockwave, if in TF4 for instance, could easily have the ability to shoot once & take half a skyscraper down, or bring down 5 jets with a coordinated adavanced targeting system. I know one of the main complaints is that CONS die too quickly, but we have to remember it's VERY expensive everytime there is a robot onscreen.
Forget all of that. Why not just make them better, more interesting characters in general? Giving the 'Cons better X or better Y won't solve a damn thing. Give them real character, make them last and important rather than just kills to add to the body count and you're good to go.
When we first saw Blackout the Decepticons seemed really cool. It was strange and exotic weapons with cool visual effects combined with this great feeling like the Decepticons could take on entire armies with no problem. It seemed the Autobots were going to have a real fight on their hands. But as the movies went on we got less and less of that Blackout stomps a military base by himself and the Decepticons seemed more like the Droid Army from the Clone Wars. With the way Prime would go threw Decepticons I'm surprised there has been some fan edit giving Prime a light saber. If there is a forth movie at some point I want something more like Aliens 2 where the good guys had one hell of a fight all the way to the end. The Cons don't have to win but I want it to feel like it's a miracle the Autobots won not a forgone conclusion.
Yes, yes & yes. Who can forget their first encounter with Blackout on the big screen. The first time I saw Blackout I loved it. But ufortunately it mislead many of us in thinking that was the characterization the Decepticons were going to be like. Everything about the cons was awesome, but their lack of powerful weapons or armor, whatever makes them strong, was lacking. A TF4 will be different..at least it's what i'm looking forward to.
This. Forget about weapons, they're already good enough. What I want them to do is make them not get taken down in two or three shots. After the first movie the Decepticons get taken down in such easy and dumb ways. No matter what powerful weapons they get it always gets ended in an anticlimactic way.
Not so much a weapon as a plot device that you knew never had a shot a working because they were never going to allow the destruction of all life on Earth to end the film franchise. Which was another problem with the films that the Decepticons had plots that were just too big to have a shot at working in a big budget summer action film. A threat like kill Prime, take the magical McGuffin and go home to Cybertron just seems more likely to happen than extinguish the Sun or teleport in Cybertron because they need humans as slave labor on a planet that might not have any oxygen on it.
