I got them all: Japanese first release, US first release, Japanese second release and US second release.
So outside of missing slip cover is there any difference in the box itself that signifies it actually being from Japan? Mine's in storage so unfortunately I can't just look and see atm.
I hope once funds permit in the future I can grab SOC Voltron. I still wish a smaller, cheaper alternative existed, but at this point I think it's pretty obvious that if you want a decent Voltron you gotta go SOC.
i have both SOC and minipla, and the articulation is the same, maybe slightly better on the mini pla, but its a parts former in that you have to take the lion feet off and swap it with the circles for the combined mode. if you're ok with stickers, it looks good or if you can paint it.
If only Playmates had made a diecast 8” version of the ‘84 Classic Voltron...I would have bought the hell out of it.
id just be happy with playmates if they had just done an elbow swivel. like seriously, why did they not add that of all things?
No idea. That toy is like 95% of the way to being the perfect toy version of an 80s Voltron. I even smile every time he talks. Fix the elbows and chest/shoulder rotation and he would be perfect.
I think the swapping is understandable since it is a model and meant to look more accurate to the animation. It's also designed by the same main designer of the SOC.
Wouldn't be surprised if they do. I think Albegas would be a great fit for the line too, as well as Dairugger.
Anybody having issue with blue and yellow lions front legs being a bit loose when tapping the paws? Also mine came with the head disassemble on both blue and yellow lions. Are there any fixes to tighten the tension for the front legs? Any help would be appreciated.
Finally got to open TP-01. I like the heft, but the backpack piece fits together a little too tightly. Almost snapped the pegs on it taking it apart. Luckily I only reassembled it most of the way in so I can take it apart again in the future without any problems. The second GC-71 set is all packed up in it's original box, and now I'm ready for Dairugger Gotta say, the more I look at the aesthetics of this thing, the more I like it.
Well it arrived an hour ago and everything looks great - all the chrome and paint is perfect! This thing is amazing! Here's some pics:
