I am really late to the Chogokin party, but I managed to secure an order for GX-88 (one of the toys that didn't survive my move from Japan when I was kid). I'm hoping I can find a GX-71 order for retail. Is there a chance these sites will have some extra stock when it arrives stateside? Or should I just secure one now from Nippon Yasan at their marked up price?
that's a tough one, though i'm sure some people will let go of their orders because they took on multiples in order to guarantee themselves at least one so there should theoretically be some out there in the wild
Trust i understand patience, it's the hardest thing about this hobby. I'd love for SOC or anyone to take on some of the other vers. of Voltron like my patience is running thin on Classic after classic after classic, by all means it is the best Voltron but there are some nice variations like the DW, 3D, and CN vers. I'd like to see get some collectors look treatment
Glad to help out the community. I've got 4 of the GX-88s on order as well and can let 2 go, so if anybody else didn't get one in, I can help you as well.
Ok taking a few opinions, with the upcoming SoC reissue purchase and the recent 30th addition I'm kinda wracked with how to set the 2 tier display up I dont want to lose the bookcase bcuz it's really cool, maybe move the Tins around to display with the SoC at the top as well as the Voltron & Voltron movie since both SoCs will be displayed together, I'm worried about having enough room for 20th and 30th Voltron and lions fitting in one display, honestly I think I had an easier time figuring out how to display all the 16in Voltrons. Maybe I should buy a 4th detolf and give each 11incher his own shelf
How about figuring out a way to stand the tins up facing forward at the rear of the shelf (to serve as background artwork) and putting a couple figures in front of them? Then you could stand a figure or two next to the bookcase on the lower shelf.
I would have SOC in combined robot mode, and maybe take the 30th in Lion Mode in front of SOC Voltron.
Has Sideshow Collectibles ever cancelled an order on you? If not, they could be a good alternative for Voltron orders
While I never ordered from sideshow before, I hear good things about their customer service and they're pretty reputable in the 1/6 community.
I've been ordering from Sideshow for over 10 years now and I've never had them cancel an order on me. That said I've only ever ordered their statues and Hot Toys figs. Things that they have the US distribution rights to. They're clearly branching out to all different kinds of different pop culture items (celebrity photos?), so it's anyone's guess how they will handle all of these new products. In my experience though, their customer service is better when it's third party items. So I would assume they'll handle Bandai Chogokin products professionally.
They may have cut a deal with Bluefin since Bluefin was bought out by Bandai and is their official distribution arm outside of Japan now. Thanks for your input. I'll seriously consider them now for SOC Dairugger.
Nope, I've never had them cancel anything on me. They're probably the largest pop culture manufacturer and distributor out there. I've had an account with them since 2004 and never had an issue that wasn't taken care of. I'm not sure how many GX-88 SSC had available, but it went to waitlist within a couple hours.
i may try that, those tins standing up is no easy task, heck push come to shove they'll be the figure stand lol i'm going to put 20th and 30th together one in lion one in combined i'll have a better look at things when 30th comes in on Friday, i swear Toynami did one heck of a money grab with Voltron, 20th, 25th, 30th and EX.
