Yeah...the two things I don't care for are that and those cat slippers he's wearing. They aren't horrible...but removing those whiskers might make them a bit less prominent.
I just think it looks dumb as hell. The lion heads on the feet are ridiculous, and they're huge yet the head is way too small. The problem as it were with Voltron is everything about the transformation is evident, so you can still see the lion legs in combined form, and the bodies, and those are the most disproportionate, doofy looking lions I've ever seen.
That depends on which version of Voltron your comparing it to. If it’s the toy, then your issues with it is valid. If your comparing it to the animation, than no. The arm lions have no front or back legs showing, it’s just not there. And the leg lions only has perfect circle details for both their front and back legs. Just wanted to point that out, is all.
I feel it’s obvious what I meant from the context of my post. If you look at the figure above, you can see the entirety of the limb lions folded up, and they’re incredibly disproportionate.
Now that I had some decent sleep, I don't know why that was such a sticking point for me. But I do agree with you, it's still a bad figure no matter how I slice it. LOL
Does anyone recall this Robotech/Macross + Voltron Cross-over comic? I don't have any Robotech/Macross stuff, but was wondering if anyong knew of a Valkryie that scaled well with the SOC Voltron.
Anyone see this sexy beast yet? (Too bad can't transform) [Pre-Order] Titan Power TitanPower TP TP-01 TP01 Titan Beast King Chogokin Voltron w/ LED Features: - Non-transformable - Led light-up head for each lion - Weapons include sword, shield, spear and 5 daggers
Yeah a few posts back. It's one very unattractive piece of wannabe i've ever seen... wannabe Voltron? Lion? Something?
The head looks bigger in that pic compared to the other pics I've seen. It certainly does have a certain appeal to it...very Gundam-like, IMO...I just wish the feet were a bit smaller.
They've added a bit of articulation to it...but it is remarkably similar to the original toy... I'm curious about the price...
I get the feeling that either Hasbro or Bandai America(with PLEX) will announce that they have the Legendary Defender Voltron license at Toy Fair next month.
Stores abruptly clearanced playmates Voltron products last year including the relatively new(at the time) classic lions and Playmates didn't release some of their later planned assortments. I get the feeling they didn't want to renew their license when the time came.
I certainly hope someone picks up the torch... I think there's a fair amount of untapped potential with the line. I really need to finish watching the rest of the Netflix series. And, I would kill for a Vehicle Voltron akin to the 16" Classic Lion Voltron they released last year.
I don't mind a modern take/look at it. But this one is just a mess to look at for me. It's trying to go all bot mode but at the same time going for something completely different. I mean partial lion limbs/paws, disproportionate SD style legs with leaner upper body and arms. It looks so very off in so many levels. It's definitely an eyesore for me and well, fugly. However, if you like the look, that's great. I mean we all have different tastes.
