I think that was just some stock from the original release that turned up. There hasn't been a true re-release.
That's what I'm thinking as well. If it was a true reissue other shops would have had them as well at that time but they didn't. BBTS just came across some leftover stuck from the initial run. Based on what folks are saying in the sideshowcollectors.com forum Bandai is known for doing actual reissues of their most popular items, even if it takes a couple of years for them to do them.
Unless there are licensing issues, given the popularity of Soc Voltron Bandai will definitely consider reissuing it like they did with other figures.
Def old stock you would have heard about it overseas first well before they apppeared at BBTS. Although BBTS does seem to stay pretty up to date on SOC releases. I bet they sell more new release SOCs than any other company in the US.
Just a tip, don't paint the limbs sliver. I used a modeling marker paint and the legs along with the elbow joints came apart- causing me to buy another.
Appreciated. Definitely a lesson learned. The good thing is that my GoLion now has dual Joukin, and dual spinning blades.
Was it a gundam marker? I used a Gundam marker on ABS before and it seeped into some joints and cracked them apart. I think it was either a chemical reaction or it just doesn't do well when drying in tight areas.
No- different model paint marker. I used them before on Gundam models, but not in a full capacity like I did on the Voltron lion limbs and joints, just surface level stuff.

That's great. That means I can hold off on getting the FJ KO of SOC GoLion/Lion Voltron with confidence. Those online scalpers' and their $700-$1,000 SOC Lion Voltron days are numbered.
