Because parts forming is the essence of the Lego play pattern. Well no offense to @len_d69 but judging by the pics I think the combined mode chest/shoulders look better on the Lego Ideas release. Possibly due to the parts forming?
No, building and creating is the essence of the play pattern. You shouldn't have to disassemble a model once it's built just to play with it. That's like if Lego cars or ships needed removable doors and cockpits. Building functional models of whatever you want, that's the spirit of Lego. If anything this runs counter to that idea, since they weren't able to perfectly creating a functioning Voltron. The limits of Lego impeded the creativity, which isn't how it's supposed to work.
that pic next to the castle stuff makes me yern for a castle of lions. mini, to scale or otherwise. would be such a boss scene to have voltron standing there next to the castle, especially with those minifigs. Need a koran, sven and princess attire alura minifig too. come on lego give us the good stuff! a castle that opens with working zip lines (haha just kidding....maybe)! the little speeders would be neat too. hopefully with the success of this version they look into making bank on a LD voltron too because, DUH.
Only through the magic of Lego can you remove the lion legs and tails just like the original animation model:
Finally! My Voltron Plamo shipped... Blue Fin really needs fix their email system for shipment notices. It should be here Monday.
This question gets asked about once a month, and sadly the answer is always no. Not a word on SOC Voltron since its release. That looks awesome. Can't wait to see it finished!
So when I went and bought Daltanious, I ended up talking a bit with the shopkeeper about various figures. When the topic of Soc Voltron came up he offered me the Icarus version as an alternative. What is the consensus about this figure compared to the Soc?
