I stand corrected. I’ll admit I didn’t see this coming, hopefully at least byperforce Voltron comes out

I'm glad they fucked with the show's story to accommodate this half-assed toyline that barely got of the ground before crashing.

Hope this doesn't cancel the show. :/

Perhaps the pilot figures would have sold better and enjoyed a second wave if A: they hadn’t been almost purposefully crafted to be some of the most horribly proportioned and poorly articulated action figures on the market in years and B: they could actually be found in stores.

Anyway I think we all sort of figured this is how it would go with Playmates. It’s fitting that their last move with the line was to release a whole set of classic Voltron toys literally one week after Christmas with zero promotional fanfare beforehand.

Now that Playmates has fucked over the line maybe a more skilled toy company can take over. I doubt that will happen though.

I doubt it too. The line wasn’t bad, at least in terms of the combining figures which were always going to be the biggest sellers. I just opened my metal defender set and like it a lot. Very colorful, with good heft and articulation. I certainly would have bought a “classic” version.

Maybe will will get a more collector oriented line at some point. At much higher prices, of course. I don't see another mass market line. How much better could anyone else do, really?

Well, damn, now I'm a little more anxious about that 84 Red Lion. Every place I've checked is cleaned out of everything but the basic figs and the diecast boxset. Probably wind up getting one on Amazon for $20, ah well.

Get it if you can. Even if things go great and they put out the next line of combining lions it would be a repaint of the Legendary Defender Voltron.

I wonder if these are going to end up being more of a rarity now? Makes me think I should have purchased a second set to keep stashed away.

If you have to pay $20 for just that one I'm sure it's worth it. I saw him a bunch before and was going to buy him @ $20 just to have the red lion by itself. The shoulder movement kind of put me off the set as a combiner. I've bought the other 4 on sale now and they are great just as lions. Doubt red will show up around here again so I'll order him online later if I have to.

Just buy things you like bro. Try to be a speculator and you're gonna have a bad time.

I bought a second set on clearance as soon as I found out. I’m glad I did.

This saddens me greatly. My daughter has been wanting the Alura figure since it was first shown. Do you have a link to the source?

I am curious as why stores are already clearing out the Voltron Stuff. I thought we had more of the basic figures coming out Like Allura.

Nothing is known for sure. But my feeling is that the line was killed off.

My brother & his girlfriend checked a couple of Targets near Lake George, NY. Didn’t find any Classic Red or Yellow Lions that I need, just a lone Blue one in Queensbury.

Sure seems that way. And abruptly, too because they were showing off new stuff at Toy Fair just in February. I wonder if the demise of TRU is making them panic and cut underperforming lines.

Such a bummer, I wanted the rest of the pilots and all the other characters as well.
