Managed to find a larger picture of the combined diecast Voltron we've seen before, but hey it's bigger
Which is exactly the issue, plastic and diecast have different tolerances. Toynami didn't care about that, playmates might not either. If they don't adjust the tolerances it'll make for a disappointing toy.
I think you miss my point. It's more because they are selling each lion as a Die Cast toy individually, it restricts their ability to limit the Die Cast in certain areas or use it to mass shift the combined robot. The places they are most likely to put Die Cast in the Red Green and Black lions to make them standalone die cast toys, Will likely cause weight and balance issues in the combined form. At least that is my concern. Their method of marketing and presentation almost requires them to put the metal more evenly throughout. Which while seemingly good on paper, does not always make for a good stable robot.
True, but they also have to be sold as diecast figures in their own right, and are all priced the same from what I can tell, so the arm lions having less diecast as they would need to be for good balance would make them less worth the cost than the leg lions who would need more.
Don't want the divert the thread, but yeah, the 2017 movie megazord is utter garbage compared to the Legendary Voltron. I was really looking forward to a new take on the original Megazord...... but they made it into something that will FOREVER be impossible to make into a decent toy.
Funny I didn't know I would be into the Dinos at all nor did I know you were selling your FTX versions (although I prefer the original release vs the X versions). You are right about appreciating each one and taking my time. I got a killer deal on the first 3 and I have Grinder and Stomp coming tomorrow. I've only had the trio for a few days and I am astounded on how great these figures and I am noticing new things about them all the time. I don't think I'm ready for the other tow to come tomorrow lol. Back to Voltron Curious how you guys are posing and displaying your voltron? Shelves, display cabs? Anybody has any pictures of their setups? I mean I see people post shots of their toys on here, but rarely do they show their setup or how they are displaying their toys. I'd love to see them!
After a few days of driving around to all the local stores with no luck. Thought I'd check online and found Target has em for online purchase! Wish I checked first before wasting all that time and gas! But now that I have them, I have to admit I will miss the hunt.
Shoot. I've been checking the Target website quite often, and have only ever seen the black lion available for order.
It's official I am selling my LD combing set. All were purchased from bbts and never opened. The black lion is still wrapped in extra plastic and was purchased as collectors grade. I have the original boxes they came in that have the voltron logo on the outside. I'm asking $150 + shipping. If no interests I'll just eBay it. I thought I'd post here bc I know quite a few are still looking for these. PM me if you have questions or want pictures.
Yea he's a better person for it Playmates killed bandai of America this year for best combining rainbow colored robot at American mass market brick and mortar retail. I hate the lack of neck swivel but hell for lacking that 1 point of articulation, playmates gave like 10 more joints than the BoA Megazords.
Yes! Black Lion was spotted in Canada. The hunt is officially on! Really glad I didn't buy it from the US like I almost did.
