And thanks TDS for helping with the Voltron sale. More than anything, it's about detolf space at this point, even though it really does look good on display.
I hear ya. I just wanted a second one to display in lion mode while the original one I had bought stays in combined form. All this to go with the BU Dark GoLion coming out soon. I actually dedicated one shelf on the detolf for all three, and those will be my only GoLion purchases since, as you mentioned...display space is a premium itself. Honestly, even I have to admit these three were kind of expensive purchases for me if I add them all up together, but being able to put money aside all along definitely helps. Otherwise, me owning my own definitive GoLion(s) would not happen. And I've always wanted a good representation for it. It just brings back a lot of memories watching it on TV long ago.
And that's why I'm going back and forth about it, man. Design-wise, the SoC isn't even my cup of tea for modern gokins, but the fit and finish is so damned good!
You're telling me! I let my buddy handle mine, and when he left, I was wiping off the finger prints SOC Voltron is oh so shiny in the detolf It's worth the buy man. I was worried about the quality since I've never really bought any SOC figures. Ever. But once I had them in hand, and fiddled with it. Man....the sweet sound of those ratchets. The good sound! The stability, the overall quality of this thing is top notch in my opinion. The accessories are also a big plus for me. If I had any gripes at all, it'd only be that it didn't have that iconic key that came with the EX Ultimate version (Toynami). Though I wouldn't mind buying that second hand if anyone had one for a decent price
Does ANYONE regret getting SoC Voltron? No. No-one regrets it. I don't regret it and I had hands-down the worst QC experience of anyone in the forum. He's a must-have if you can swing it.
Haha, seriously. By the time I saw Voltron, I had already seen so many other Super Robot shows that he was kinda boring to me. Not sure why I never saw Go Lion but robots like Daltanious and God Sigma were prevalent as a kid and cooler looking to me. Especially because of other things out like Transformers and Macross that were around the same time as Voltron.
I spotted some more of the LD limbs today at Target so it looks like those might be getting a restock.
Honestly, I'm not the biggest Voltron person either, but these newer toys are doing some good things and the new Legendary Defenders series is just great, IMO.
