I guess I may be wrong. I'm not an SOC collector, but a toy collector in general and I usually have a good eye on things that will increase greatly in value. I bought the Threezero Titan Atlas Mech for $350ish, the last time I've seen one on Ebay went for $3000.00. Not the crappy one by Play Arts Kia, I'm talking the large scale one from Threezero.
Is no one happy with the Ulimate EX Voltron? I have both Ulimate EX and SOC, and I really like both of them for different reasons. But I don't see much talk on this forum about the Ultimate EX version.
Yep, GGG was reissued too. Plus they have votes on what SOCs to reissue so reissuing is obviously a thing.
I couldn't help myself and opened my set. How do you close the leg ports (where the Black Lion connects to for Voltron) on the Blue and Yellow Lions? I guess is there any easier way or special secret...
There's a button on the side of the Blue and Yellow lions, behind one of their back upper legs, that you need to push in. That will release the door that covers up the connection point.
Anyone had any issues with the chrome on SOC Voltron chipping? Paint? If so, any advice for avoiding it?
Well, to be honest I like the Ultimate EX more... SOC is better made, seems like higher quality, where as Ultimate EX feels like a 3rd party Combiner, a good one, but still like a 3d party ( you can see places that may eventually wear or scratch overtime). But the look of the individual lions on Ultimate EX are... way better than any voltron out there (not counting the Legendary Version of the lions toys). And his combined form is unique yet similar enough to the original. SOC is the definitive replica of voltron, but Ultimate EX seems like the ultimate take on voltron.
So, I fast forwarded to the final episode of season two to see these possible "extra bits"... It's not worth it, don't skip to see it. It's Spoiler just slightly bigger wings... Like how his sword can get bigger throughout the season. Not a "power-up" transformation like anything drastic in DBZ. The fight is still great, but I if there are any real upgrades to be made, it won't be until the 3rd season, so expect a wait on any different combining legendary Voltron figures. I think the current one and the die-cast one will be it for awhile.
Spoiler I'm honestly not expecting much more than different weapon modes and unlocks to be perfectly honest. I really doubt actual drastic design changes to voltron himself happens unless the lions take heavy damage in a battle and extensive repairs are made or unlocked. Its possible the upgrades talked about for voltron is just weapon and other things like we've already seen. With Shiro missing Keith will move to black lion, but what happen to red? Will lance pilot it or stay in blue? If allura wears pink she might take over red. Whatever happens their weapons are fitted to the pilots so new pilots, or pilots switching lions will bound to unlock new abilities and weapons..
What's the deal with stores not stocking the lions? Every Target, Walmart, and TRU I go to has empty pegs. They've been empty for weeks now. I still need red and yellow to finish mine.
I'll try again...anyone know if there are issues with SOC Voltron experiencing paint/chrome chipping? Waiting for mine to arrive, and want to avoid possible issues. Any advice is appreciated.
Just a matter of shortage from the supplier. Hopefully more will start to come into stock soon, but no telling for sure.
I'm all but certain it's due to the unexpected popularity. They probaly had no idea the lions were going to sell like they did.
