It's quite nice. Just wish they used ratcheting joints instead of mostly friction based joints

 

Yeah, that's one of the poses that makes me prefer it over the SOC version.. hopefully I'll be able to pick it up at some point.

 

I like the EX, but for the life of me, what's with all the damn blue faces over and over since the 80s Voltrons.

 

Just finely broke down and bought the Jumbo from BBTS. Clearance is just way to attractive at $140

 

I think it's just something that caught on because the 80's show did it, and it gives Voltron a more distinct face.

 

Make sure the silver thighs are all the way down. Once they are down the thighs will rotate. Also my wrist swivel. Not sure why yours doesnt.

 

Well, I give up. After scoring at Target Thursday and snagging 4/5ths of the team, I can't find the Legendary Red Lion ANYWHERE local to me. Went back to the same Target Friday and they were totally cleared out of Voltron stuff... except for the two cardboard cases they ship to the store in... which were torn open like animals got to it. Even finding it online for a reasonable price is a pain in the ass. I found it on e-bay for sale at retail price with free shipping and between seeing it and the time it took to log in to buy it, gone!

So... now I beg of you... if ANY of you see the Red Lion, hit me up and I'll pay pal you the cash for it... Seeing an incomplete Voltron and Blazing Sword (or whatever they're calling it) is killing me.  

 

I swear the cases are uneven---I several times found ONLY Red Lion, the first couple places I checked. Likely all gone now though.

Stopped at another TRU today. The only Voltron stuff they had was the cheap little figures and the role play costume kind of stuff. What a joke considering it said in their ad LAST WEEK that they would have ALL the new Voltron toys. "We've got 'em." Bullshit.

 

The Toys R' Us by me is probably the only place that hasn't stocked Voltron: LD. Though I have only seen the combining limbs that one time about a week ago.

Okay so I know someone has painted the section between the chest the collar black, but has anyone tried to paint more of the chest red so it better matches the original design?

I meant the blue that surrounds his face ^^, the 80's show didn't do that. The only blue on Voltron's face in the anime, is on his fore head.

 

Oh, well you could say that about any of the EX's stylistic choices.

EDIT: Oh, I didn't know the previous Voltrons did that. That is odd. Maybe it's because the face is moulded in blue and painted over silver, and they were just lazy/didn't care about painting the sides?

 

Well I have pretty much painted all five lions to better match the show and I don't see much of a difference between we got on the toy and what is shown in the show.

LoL, yeah, I never understood it. Most the toys over the years just kept copying the blue face from the previous toy it seems.
