Cracked and ordered Black Lion from BBTS. If I like him I'll grab the other kitties as I find them in stores.
Having a hard time holding off, but the shipping fees and duty and making me wait till they appear in Canada.
Hmmm, I think I'll be just fine with the SOC. Ball-jointed hips on a combining figure that large should be a sin. I don't see where that $400 pricetag is coming from for this EX version.
In the video, he didn't really show much. Doesn't really sway me at this point. Hopefully more reviews come out that show a bit more detail.
Well I got to say, (after watching the second video) i'm really up in the air now because of the ball joints on the legs. Thats bugging me. Really would prefer a ratchet. Anyone have any experience with ball joints for the legs? Do they last over the years?
Ball joints..... What the everloving f*ck?!? Well, I guess I don't hafta worry about wanting that version anymore, as that's a really bad design choice, and for that price EVERY joint should have ratchets, especially joints holding so much weight.
To be completely honest the use of ball joints on the hips makes the entire figure questionable and makes me wonder what other poor design choices they went with.
Saying i'm disappointed at this point, would be a understatement. I may just go ahead and get a extra SOC Voltron, and cancel the EX.
Agreed. Just finding out about those ball joints was enough to convince me to not even bother watching anymore reviews for this guy, which is a shame because I LOVE how good he looks in all modes.
I can't believe how disappointed I am in that Toynami Voltron. Yes, I briefly watched the limb lions review after all, and really do like this set other than that one glaring flaw at Black Lion's hips. I suppose I should be happy since this saves me $400, but I can't help but feel gutted and also feel like I've been kicked in the nuts with a steel tipped boot.
That stealth EX cost 500 bucks? What a joke. Bandai really needs to start giving out lessons on how to properly make high-end toys.
