I'm enjoying the new series. Not bad for a reboot. Some questionable & interesting concept changes & a little too many attempts at humor, but it works overall. Now bring on some new merchandise. Would love to see Voltron merch at retail again.
I pre-ordered mine from ToyerCity back in February. According to the listing on their webpage: "$269.90 included shipping / Release in April, 2016 / Payment have to be clear before Feb 15, 2016 for above price with free shipping" I've e-mailed them several times inquiring about the status, but I haven't heard anything back from them at all. Should I be worried? I paid via PayPal on February 8, 2016... What's the statue of limitations on when I should file a complaint with PayPal?
180 Days. Also, watching the new series with my son. We're loving it. Episode 3's ending was a bit of a shock. I do miss the whole combining spiel for Voltron though :/ Love the little jab at the stacking combining, Hunk's attempt at combining with Keith and Hunk's jab at Voltron Force XD
I paid more than that, but f**k it...I'm late to the game I was told this was supposed to release mid June (this month)....so the wait continues.....
Ok, this new Voltron series is awesome. What's the current rumors of toys? I was pretty bummed that nothing ever became of the Voltron Force version but I NEED this version to happen in toy form and ASAP.
American toys probably gonna be cheap mass release stuff but if Bandai gets the license for this design and does it in their SoC line . . . hoooo boy
I hope a 3rd party does a quality and highly articulated version of the new Voltron series, with dynamic / highly posable lions, and nice looking combined mode.
I'll take both of those. While a higher end toy is my preference, I know that if I walk into a toy aisle in Target and see cheap Voltron toys, I will not be able to resist.
Well, the Playmates Turtle toys haven't exactly been Trendmasters style cheap, so we'd probably at least get the best quality Voltron toys this side of Matchbox.
I'm not asking for Playmates to give us a Voltron figure that's done on the likes of lines like SOC,I just want them to give us a Voltron line that has all the basic articulation and not have Voltron himself be a brick that's all I'm asking. Also I hope that they give the same amount of great care for the other characters too because I don't want them to be like the TMNT line in terms of articulation.
Did anyone notice the Tamashii Nations Twiiter account last week? I can't find a link to it, but someone asked if "there was any chance of seeing a new Voltron SRC?" The response from Bandai was "Think larger than SRC..." Please lord just once let this not be Tamashii screwing with people...
I'm probably in the minority, but I think I like this new voltron over the classic version, so I hope we get a really great figure of it, no matter who makes it.
While not a lot will say they prefer this one over the classic... The classic does have some really, well "classic" design aesthetics, I think most will agree that this new version really is superb. Wonderful aesthetics. Great movement and presense on screen. Seeing it in motion really does make we wish Bandai would do an SRC of it. Classic Voltron needs to be a true perfect combiner like a SOC. This one? It's all about the movement and posing. It needs incredible articulation. Like what Bandai did with the SRC Sentai robots.
I hope so too. According to different sources, Bandai had plans to reveal a SOC GoLion at last year's SDCC but somehow the licence was given to...Toynami...BLAH! I would buy at least 2 sets of GoLion...if the combined force is as big as Daltanious!
I wonder if this has to do with why we haven't heard anything new about Madtoy's official Voltron yet.
If Bandai does an SOC Golion it will, my guess, be a Japanese market only release due to licensing. No US etailers so we will all need to buy direct from Japan. Which is fine I would prepay right now.
