Per some recent discussion in the Voltron thread on 3D printing, modding and custom part/toy design and production, I decided to make this thread as a repository and springboard for some actual custom work. Let’s see where this goes and bring some things to life.

The recent discussion started largely with the idea of repurposing/modding other toys into Robeasts for Voltron to fight. What do you all think of starting with one of those? Does anyone have a favorite or particularly iconic Robeast in mind that they would like to see produced? I found a Voltron wiki that has pics of many of the Robeasts all in one place. How about nominating one for our first custom?

    Voltron Wiki - Robeasts

We could scour the internet...and even our collections...for candidate donor figures or even 3D model files from online repositories (e.g. Thingiverse) that could serve as starting points. This could be fun.

I have to admit that I’m interested in Kill-Driller and Neuro Robeast, myself...but they really aren’t as beasty/organic as I recall most of the Robeasts being. Post one or more of your own preferred Robeasts.

I've always planned on printing this Voltron:

I haven't gotten around to it before because my old printer wasn't great and it didn't have thermal runaway protection so I could only do long prints if my wife or I were going to be home all day but I recently got an i3 mk3 so I'm planning on trying it soon (after I finish the very large project I'm currently working on).

You can't get the files on MyMiniFactory any more - have to be in his $5 Patreon tier - but his current version has some improvements over what's in the video. I also plan to tweak a few things about the design before printing and upsize it to a full 24".

You will be the ONLY guy at the party wearing one. Hopefully. Cuz two Voltrons showing up would be embarrassing.

I am going to make a Robeast! But, I'd like to make one a lot of people can get behind. Let's get some kind of consensus together.

First question: Would you prefer an organic or mechanical Robeast?
