They offered Shia LaBeouf big money before to do more big budget films so it seems like he's less interested in the sort of money a studio is offering and more interested in what sort of roles they are offering. I just don't see him ever returning to Transformers when he seems more interested in the mid to low budget film roles.

Honestly I think they should have been done with his character after the first movie. The whole boy and his car, the whole high school loser gets wrapped up in huge events worked really well. Second movie it was harder to justify the character's return. By the third film the only reason for the character to be there is because Paramount made Shia LeBeouf sign a three movie deal. While his character is important for the first movie you could have completely replaced his character in the third film and the story wouldn't have lost anything. The only thing they could have done in the third film is kill off the character for a powerful emotional moment but the production team wasn't brave enough to go for the emotional gut punch.

I never thought Sam's role ever felt forced in any of the movies. In fact, TF:RotF drawing inspiration from Buster's arc in the early Marvel Comics run seemed perfectly natural. I loved that he basically became a vessel for the AllSpark, revived Optimus with the Matrix, and essentially became Witwicky Prime himself.

And later being used as a spy by the Decepticons to exploit his friendship with the Autobots in the next film was a great idea, too.

Overall, watching a boy become a man over the course three films exploring the subject of TRANSFORMATION not only makes perfect sense but is also a truly brilliant conceptual underpinning for the narrative of the movies.

Actually, from what I've read he hates most of his work and won't watch it because he is his own worst critic. He still gets nervous on stage or on set each and every time he walks out.

Though I also read that he didn't care for the Megatron role at all, but mainly because he couldn't find his purpose behind it. He didn't know his motivation for the character.

No, the amusing thing is that is that the fans who were flaming and rediculing the older G1 fans for being nostalgic who are now whining about Shia & co.

    Weaving Hugo, however. :p

I would like it if he came back. His voice is more fitting to this version of Megatron.

Hugo Weaving isn't coming back. I'd like to see Frank Welker as Megatron anyway; he'd have more fun with it.

I also think he's definitely proven to Bay by this point that he can do an intimidating voice. I mean take Prime example... now before anyone counters this I am talking in terms of voice, not the character actions. His performance did sound much more intimidating compared to his earlier versions of Megatron.

I also hear he voiced Bayverse Megatron in the video games but I haven't really listened to them to see how he sounds.

Out of all the voice actors for Megatron, I hated David Kaye the most. Especially when he's all like "Yeeessss." Just had to throw that out there. While I do miss Hugo Weaving for voicing Megatron, though I wouldn't mind if Frank Welker took over the role of Megatron.

I'm sure he's already proven to be worthy for Bay as he already voiced Galvatron in AOE.

Wow! you're fully entitled to your opinion, but man, BW Megs is awesome. Look past the slapstick, and he's deepest most competent megatron of all!

I guess he should have realized the motivation was "me, me, me."

I personally didn't like him. He annoyed me so much and BW was my least favorite transformers series. And no I'm not entitled to my opinion. I never said his opinion was wrong and mine was right. I just saw people throwing in opinions about voice actors for Megatron and I decided to give mine. Simple as that.
