I imagine Arcee just to have a shaky voice. Unstable AF. Hotrods a cocky young guy.

Overlord for me, sounds like this guy

but more... tone in his voice?

I can't seperate whirl from bender from futurama at the moment for obvious reasons, but having watched the transformers prime episode human factor last night, knockouts voice could also be suitable

when I read arcee I hear airachnids voice in my head oh the irony.

This might be way out there, but I could totally buy Kelsey Grammer voicing Whirl, if only because imagining Whirl going off on a Sideshow Bob-esque diatribe would be hilarious.

And, while it's nice to see that the majority favor Robert Stack as Magnus, I think another suitable voice that would match his stoicism (and eventual softening) would be Peter Weller.

For me, Cyclonus is a very dark Bryan Cranston.

This is what usually happens for me. I haven't watched the G1 cartoon in ages and can't remember most of the voices from that, except for the more prominent characters (Prime, Megatron, etc) or the ones with a particularly stupid accent or verbal tic (Warpath, Seaspray, etc). Even for the characters where I can remember their G1 cartoon voice, many time it doesn't sound right for the IDW character to me, particularly Starscream and Megatron. And I don't watch enough TV/movies/whatever to have specific actors/VAs who automatically come to mind when I read specific characters. I think the only exception is Ratchet, where I do 'hear' Prime Ratchet when reading him.

Otherwise, when I read the characters, I have an idea of generally what I'd expect them to sound like, not so much a specific voice. Whirl and Shockwave, I imagine having heavily synthesized voices, very traditional-robotic sounding, as a secondary effect of the Empurata. Cyclonus always has a snarl to his voice, with barely restrained anger dripping off every word. Ultra Magnus' voice is deep and flat, with little variation in tone. Tarn's voice is smooth and very refined, with a focus on proper pronunciation and emphasizing the appropriate syllables of words. Rung's voice is quiet. Etc.
