I think the Kronoform and King Dam series were the only ones without Gats-Blocker on unit 1. Also, most of the releases have something written on unit 8...
I had a junker partial set come in from a random parts lot, today, that I had picked up for some Naut figures. The stamps all match the ones you pictured... So, these could be Diakron. I took a shot of the ones with words on the decals, which varied from the Kronoform decals, after a bit of clean up. (More of these are useable than I thought. Shame the head is broke on it or I could swap them to make each version...)
And while I was cleaning stuff up... Decided that I could use my second Reboot V-Max trailer temporarily as a traveling pilot museum...
Nice one. As simple as the pilots are, the sheer scale and detail is pretty impressive considering they are nearly 40 years old. I don’t think you can really appreciate how small they are until you have them in-hand.
Managed to get a fourth version! These Powered Suit Real Type model kits are so beautiful. I wish they would reproduce these so I could build a lot of them... I just can't bring myself to tear into the bags to build these vintage ones.
It's a rare event when getting 5 new Diaclone Reboot toys in the mail, isn't the highlight of your day, but that's what happened today. I now have a Battas. I gave this thing a lot of TLC, disassembling it fully and cleaning it piece by piece by piece, but it was a labor of love. Kickback was my first Decepticon and has always been one of my favorites as the closest (in my opinion) depicted onscreen compared to the toy.
By the way, there was another, possibly earlier Kronoform release of Gats-Blocker that may have featured the words on the stickers like the original release... I found this on Mercari. The box art is different as well.
Recent Japanese vintage with box acquisitions... Enjoy! Expect more pictures over the next several days, but wanted to share this teaser now...
Well, haven't had a chance to get those photos taken yet, but here's a few European GiG Diaclone releases... Top to bottom: Dia-Attacker, Cosmo Car (Cosmo Roller), and Diatron (Dia-Battles).
Machine Dragon is one of the coolest toy designs I've seen. And no, I don't think the Diaclone reboot take on this does it justice.
I've yet to really understand the appeal of Machine Dragon. Though I don't think I've ever seen a video review of it... does it *do* anything?
I have yet to see this posted here, so here goes... I found an old Japanese Diaclone fansite that, so far, has the best written information on vintage Diaclone I have been able to find. The photos on the site are a bit crap just due to their age, but I still think this site will be extremely useful for many of you. Note that the person who wrote these webpages gave each figure an ID number. The only vintage Diaclone toys to have ID numbers were the Car Robots, which had their own unique numbering that started from No.1 (Pre-Sunstreaker). LIST Ver.3.0.5
I reference that quite frequently, when I don't want to pull out the books. It is good at pointing out some of the differences from the TF versions, from a unique Diaclone first point of view... That was shared in one of the first few posts by @Omega23 , but it is great to share again for those just joining and a reminder to others. Thank you.
I won't take full-credit for that. There were a lot of folks posting pictures of using the trailer vertically, like original Convoy, when it first came out.
This shot transcends the vintage and the new, so apologies for double-posting... Because I had to... I just hit 200 Instagram followers... And, I needed something special for my 100th Instagram post. This seemed very "apropos"...
I know this is older, just wondering if anyone has a Waruder version as there were various releases...
- Had a double vintage pilot mail call, today, and got a full Daikron Type-3 Dia-Naut set and a vintage Diaclone Waruderoid!!! Updated: They also look really nice in little display cases.
This inspired me to do one of my faux comic covers... Hope you enjoy! (If you like this, I have more non-vintage photos on Instagram and Twitter. See my signature or profile page for links.)
