I got my new iPod nano 4g yesterday. When I try to play a video on it(the video was in MPEG 4 format) it either won't play or it freezes my iPod. Any recomendations on how to fix this ?
If the video wasn't purchased on the super-secure fortress of DRM that is Itunes then it probably won't play. MPEG 4 is just a compression algorithm. Video can be encoded in MPEG 4 and actually not be Ipod compatible. Typically, videos for Ipod have an extension of .mp4. I recommend downloading Super C and recoding the video. It's about as simple as selecting "Ipod" as your target format. If you don't have a workhorse PC don't multitask. Let Super C do it's thing. It stores the completed files in C:\Program Files\eRightSoft\SUPER\OutPut\ but you can change that folder if you want. It's amazing that everyone loves the Ipod as much as they do when it is probably the hardest handheld device to actually get to play video on.
I just drag the file in to iTunes and it converts and sticks it on. SOCKBABY IS NOW MINE FOREVER. Hello!
Yeah same, here, it works for me. In fact, I use the same software to compress PSP movies and those same MP4s work in my Iphone, if they are not already MP4, which is why I have the new Trek in my Iphone now.... Hey I watched it already in the threater, plan on watching it in the Imax and will buy the Uber Bluray when it comes out.... dues paid.
I make MP4s for my PSP, but those same MP4s work smoothly with Itunes for my Iphone... So I'm converting for the PSP, but that file format works for the Phone too, so a native MP4 should work for him.
