good video but I still can't believe Hasbro is releasing this! waste of money and plastic! anyone that is wanting to get this will probably won't have to wait long for it to go on clearance.

He could atleast show the vehicle modes OR the poseability of Devastator.

Thank you for posting this, this is the sort of thing I was looking for.

This confirms a lot of what I've heard, and adds even MORE concerns, such as:

1. Cheap-feeling plastic
2. Lack of ratcheting joints on the joints which bear most of the weight
3. ZERO head poseability
4. Lack of even BASIC paint apps, like faction symbols (!!!)

It's just... sad, really. It seems like he's a bundle of compromises and cut corners, all for a light and sound gimmick that, while kinda neat, is nowhere NEAR the tradeoff.

So he can't pose, because his legs can't properly support his weight, he has zero head articulation, the individual construction vehicles look BAD due to severe lack of paint apps (and what looks like a serious shortage of molded detail), and his gimmick for which so much was sacrificed consists of him flopping his head up and spouting a random soundclip with some (Admittedly nice) LED lights.

Considering you're paying about what it would cost to buy the individual transforming versions of each of the Constructicons, we really should be getting better than this (at the very least in paint apps). Much as I wanted to like this, much as I wanted to find a reason to like this and get this... there are just too many compromises. I'll have to pass on him.

 

Man.....now I really wish I could see the breakdown of costs that went into designing this set and how Hasbro went about deciding to price Devs at $100. It's sad to see what should have been (and is priced to be) the pinnacle of the line get shown up by deluxes and voyagers....Ultimate BB at least had animatronics and some cool features to justify it's $90 price tag...I'll reserve total judgement until I see the transformation, but I'm not even sure this thing should be priced higher than a leader.

 

Ok, so tell me why Hasbro is charging double the price of Unicron if this appears to be shorter than it? I want a big Devy, but wow, this is really awful. I mean, even with all the complaints I was considering it, but yuck.

 

Thanks for that breakdown, I couldn't make out what the reviewer was saying about the figure over all the whining and moaning.  

 

I'll wait for clearance. The only thing trhat I can honestly say that I like on him is the way the head lights up. If I don't find it on clearance, than I won't pick it up.
